Hurt my back over the holidays & have been taking it easy lately as it heals. Feel incredibly guilty over the lapse, but know my body is demanding a rest from my grueling workout sessions. I intend on making 2009 a huge success with my life, starting tomorrow! Wishing you all a safe & happy New Years!

I had the best shock of my life! I logged in tonight & see a congrats on my comments. I’m thinking it’s over the book I’m in the process of getting signed with a publisher but double check just for the sheer heck of it. What do ya know, I see my name listed 2nd in the model search there in the forums! I literally wipe my eyes & check again. I can’t believe it, I’m seriously in the running for sure now! OMG, I start jumping up & down, screaming & bawling at the same time! My kids come running over & after I tell, they join me in my ridiculous but heart-felt dance. I call my hubby & sis up, blabbering the great news to both! I am so happy, & even though I know I still have to get past round 4 to make it into the finals, I’m still so thrilled & honored to have made it this far! So thanks to all you fellow body-spacers & administration for giving me this unique & rare opportunity for the chance to represent BodyBuilding.com! You guys & gals rock!

So today I had to run into town to pick up eggs for our cookie baking session with the kids for their school bake sale. While I was getting ready, I quick decided to try on my new pair of jeans I’d boughten 2 sizes to small. What do ya know, they fit! Mind you, they were snug across the hiney, but in a good way (I think?). Should off my hamstrings for sure which I’m proud of, so I wore them into town. I got some looks but don’t know if it was the jeans or my new hair color. Black tends to garner attention on a 6 foot woman apparently… I’ll post a progress pic of me in the jeans in the near future. Anyways, I thought it was cool & decided to share. I’m really happy about the pounds lost even though my scale doesn’t want to budge…

I’m so proud of myself! I ate a huge bag of baby spinach within 2 days. First time it’s went that fast, but I used it in my egg omlettes for breakfast, side salad at lunch & again for supper. I’ve even went so far as to just munching on them in replacement of my chip cravings. (Not the same crunchy texture, but it helped nontheless!) Now, if only I could figure out a good way to consume more asparagus spears…

Why? Because in the summer time, I get out the push mower weekly & cut our entire huge lawn to perfection & in the winter time, I shovel out our fairly long driveway by hand. Both activities take a few hours each time I undertake them. The funny thing is I enjoy doing this; even to the point where I take it on as my chore and not my hubby’s. I do this for the physical benefits but my neighbors don’t get it. They’ve come over & recommended really good snow blowers or told me of great  sales going on for riding lawn mowers. I just have to laugh & tell them yet again that I chose this life style for the health reasons, not because I can’t afford a more conveniant method. I love the burn I get & feel good knowing that not only does the yard look great, so is my decreasing waist size. Hard work can bring great satisfaction!

I got a chance to sit down last night to watch my favorite show WWE wrestling. My hero, Jonny boy Cena kicked some Cain butt & I was estatic! My kids get in on the action as well. They have their faves and aren’t afraid to flaunt it! My youngest who’s 3, happens to love Cena like his mommy. Of course I realize he’s a total Mommy’s Boy, but still, he knows great when he see’s it! It’s funny, he always want’s to wear his ‘John Cena’ shorts, even now in the winter. Yesterday I let him & he curled up in my arms to cuddle up as we watched the tail end of the show. Pretty soon he was sleeping, not long after that, I was too! My 7 yr old daughter snapped a pic. What can I say? Children are the greatest!
