Clean eating spaghetti…
Saturday, September 27th, 2008The other night, my kids begged for spaghetti and since I’ve been serving heathy foods for awhile now, I decided to try my hand at ‘clean spaghetti’. Before this, I could cook to-die-for ’sgetti’ (as my kids call it) but it was LOADED with all the extras! (Oh man, just thinking about it makes my mouth water; definitely my choice of a cheat meal!) So that evening, I cooked up some ground turkey, onion, garlic, and mixed it with a ton of herbs, then combined it together with 100% whole wheat noodles and fat free, reduced sugar sauce and cheese. Then threw in some raw broccoli, corn, and carrots. Served it with fat free cottage cheese and salad. Believe it or not, my kids actually liked it and asked for seconds! That made my night - big time! I fed my children healthy food & it satisfied any cravings for junk food. Couldn’t ask for more…
