Why I love working out?

Why? Because I’m 42 and my body has been changing! My ass fills out my pants now haha. We guys all know that’s the first thing to go! Then the stomach grows! Since I’ve been working out, these issues have been addressed and will be a top priority! Some say there is no Fountain of youth, "But" You can slow down and even reverse the aging process for a while! Who doesn’t want to look 30 at 40 or 40 at 50! Duh!! Naysayers are sitting on there couch with there remotes watching PX-90 commercial wishing they would do something! 1 fricking hour a day 5 times a week is not a lot out of someone’s life to be able to stand up straight in your golden years if you take care of yourself now!!!

Improving bench!!

I’ve been working out with this old fart at the gym, and yes he’s old, 69 next month! He used to be a bodybuilder when he was my age. Showed me his compitition pix, He was huge, still a big guy though, you would think he was 56 or something. Anyhow he need aspot one day on dubell bench and I started working out with him, I was proud to get the 105’s up! The next month we were up to 135’s And I hit 315 on the barbell! Well he had to go in for surgery on his knee so I have hit the Hammerstrength machine this week, put up 10 plates for 450! So I’m gonna hit the barbell Monday and see if I can get 8 plates up for 405! I’ll be happy to get 1,2, or 3 reps! wish me luck!

200 lbs wtf

Not that its a bad thing! Been about 175-178 most of my 30’s I was trying to loose weight, But dammit I just kept adding muscle! I can’t complain though, I’m gonna try and adjust the diet in a couple weeks to get some abs, but I’m still trying to feed the muscle! Which is working haha. To all you naysayers who don’t think you can do it, you can!! I work out early in the morning at my gym and its mostly grey haired people, not that its a bad thing, thats just who is there at that time of day. I work out on Tue. and Fri. With a guy who will be 69 in a month! He’s an ex body builder when he was my age in the 80’s. We do dumbbell bench bench together, He’s up to 120’s which is crazy for his age and I just passed him up at 130’s last week! Your never to old or its never to late to get in to shape!!! Just do it!!

Up to 16 3/4! 1/4 inch to go! getting pumped up. Got a little help from my wife’s trainer who is a bodybuilder. Gave me some work out tips for arms! I would tell you but I would have to kill you haha. Are 18’s possible?? Will see!

Dumbell workout

September 22, 2009

Hit the gym this morning working out with my buddy William who is 67 and still hits it hard! Started out with 90’s flat bench dumbell,100’s,110’s, then 115’s for 10 reps! Inclines at 70, 80, 90,and 90 again. Cable flys and my body weight dip for 3 sets of 20’s ! feeling pumped!!!

Weight has went up to 190! but my stomach is getting flatter, so I won’t complain. Its all muscle weight, and that’s what is important! Doing dumbbell chest workout this morning with my buddy William who is 67, He’s up to 125’s My wrist was to weak to get the 110’s up last week, so trying it again this morning. I pt the 105’s up 10 times no problem last week but couldn’t get the 10’s in position to put them up, wish me luck this morning haha

Progress!!

Haven’t blogged in awhile, but progress is great! Lost my man fur ha-ha and body fat is dropping. Used to be able to stick my gut out like Santa and suck it back in, But there’s no sticking out anymore! I got nothing to push out anymore. Now I’m just waiting for the abs to come! My goal is before I turn 43. But I can’t complain about the improvements I’ve had. 5 to 6 days a week at the gym! Mornings hit the weights and cardio in the pm. Nothing is impossible if you want it bad enough!

Close to a six pack

Been training hard and watching the diet! Not quiting my peanut butter toast in the mornings though, wtf it has protein! Keeping pretty clean otherwise, I think not drinking beer and soda has helped the most, I’m a waterholic now!! I need to put up more progress pics up, but I think I’m about a month from a Six pack! maybe two, no pressure haha. I just turned 42 to and  finally put the effort in to get one, I’m getting closer to ever towards my goal!!! Wish me luck.

Hurt my back!!

Well it was last wed. Was doing dead lifts with the barbell and bam! couldn’t breath. This happens about once a year even doing just little stuff around the house. I usually use the smith machine for dead lifts, but I thought I would step it up a notch. Guess I was wrong lol. I drove truck for 18 years so that gave me some reoccurring back injuries but weight training has all but cured most of my back problems! Lifting a little lighter on the back this week and pain is almost gone. Should be back 100% in a couple more days!!

I see other guys that are 5′8 with 16 inch guns and they look huge! I guess you just never look as big to yourself ha ha. Need to get my body fat down to get son veins showing and some more definition. Heading to the gym to get pumped  up! Wish the pump would last for days and not weeks ha ha
