Form V. trying to impress
I have fallen in the trap that most people fall into when they go to the gym and that is the dreaded trap of trying to do a lot of weight to either impress yourself or the other people at the gym. I never really noticed it until i was doing bench press the other day and really noticed that i wasnt going anywhere near my chest. In fact, i was only dropping the weight about 7 inches it seemed. Then i started to think about all my lifts and what i had really accomplished. Granted, i may be lifting a lot of weight and grunting and what not but am i really being beneficial to myself…not really. So, on my way home from the gym i told myself that i was going to pay attention to my form and not let it get out of hand. So, today was a back day, so every single movement i made in the gym was paid close attention to. I noticed that since i focused on ym form i was able to really hone in on the muscle that i was working out. Like when i was doing wide-grip cable pulldowns i could really feel my lats filling with blood and expanding, where as when i used to do it (jerking the weight down, and just trying to do a lot of weight) i really didnt feel it. So, thats my little tid-bit of info for the day, so for all you out there in bodybuilding land, this is iyaayashua, signing out…good lifting!!!!!!!

I totally know what yer saying…. I don’t do it that much myself (I’ve been lifting for about 12yrs now n don’t really give a shit what people think), but my workout partner is notorious for it. I’m a little stronger than he is, so he always try to do what I’m doing, and his form is terrible! "Pride cometh before a fall" the Lord said… he’s getting better about it, though. All I can say is we got to focus on ourselves when we lift… after all, don’t we do it to feel good about ourSELF??? Happy lifting, bro
