WORKING OUT WITH HANDICAPS

May 2, 2009

I have to work around my limitations to get into shape. Since not only do I have "Fibromylgia" I have a problem with leaving my home. It is mental and emotional that I do not want to leave the house and be around other people. To look at me you would think I don’t have a care in the world. Another problem with going to the gym, is people who go there, go there sick. They don’t stay in their home just because they are sick, I know working out has helped me to sweat through a cold and get rid of it faster. But my problem is that I have an auto-immune disease, which means I get sick easy and catch sickness easy just by being around people and my body can’t fight it off as when you have a normal immune system. So it’s kinda funny in a sense because you go to a gym to get healthy not sick!!! I have been using this as one of my excuses. Today is sat. May 2, 2009 My first goal is going to my down town YMCA on monday and joining up!!! I told myself I wouldn’t start any diet yet. Just work on getting disiplined by going every mon-wed-fri. This will be a huge step for me, as I stated earlier I have a fear of being out of my house and around strangers. So what may seem as no problem to other people starting their programs Is a major one for myself. This is where I have to accept who I am and that I don’t need to compare myself to other people. I also have a problem with "CANDIDA" Which causes my stomach to swell and make me look like I am carrying a baby! It also causes more joint pain and fatique It is only able to removed and put under control by a life- long diet that I have been on for all my life since I found out I had it. But it is extremely hard to stay on. Due to the fact it does not allow for carbs or sugar and yeast. Not even allowed to eat fruits. I cannot have foods that turn in to sugar which is all carbs. Yeast comes in almost every product on the market. I am really hoping that there are others here that can relate to me and share with me on these subjects. If not consider yourself lucky.
