Now into week 6 of a Max OT program that I took off of BB.com. Things seem to be progressing well even though my running has increased in preparation for the Army Physical Fitness Test that I have to take in October. I only ran 1 day last week due to some craziness in my home life and schedule (a move). But, this week I am back on track! My bodyweight hasn’t moved for a few weeks after gaining back about 4-5 lbs, but I THINK I am seeing a little more definition. I started taking Creatine this week so bodyweight is only going to be SO useful as a measuring stick. For now–I am going to keep working hard and seeking progress one small step at a time. Can’t build Rome in a day and can’t sprint a marathon.

Been running more which I am hoping will contribute to the big lean-out goal. Some lingering soreness in my left shoulder and left forearm/bicep so I will probably only lift twice this week and add a fourth run day. I am loving the runner’s high that Ive been getting and am going to continue to work on it while lifting heavy to maintain strength and eat as healthy as I can. Things will be so much better when I can actually grocery shop and not just try to sustain myself during the week. Ready for the big move so I can stop wasting 300-400 dollars a month on gas. Just imagine how much better my physique will be when I can put a fraction of that towards groceries!

Took the Army Physical Fitness Test yesterday morning and scored 220 out of 300. Not too bad considering I do waay more lifting than I do training for the test. For those of you not familiar, you do as many pushups as you can in 2 minutes (form is strict), same for situps, and then run 2 miles. Minimum to pass is 60 in each event. I did 55 pushups, 50 situps and ran 2 miles in 16:26. A solid passing score, but there is room for improvement. Next test will be in October and I am going to shoot for 60, 60, and 15:30 or better. This would score me in the neighborhood of a 248.

Ok, ok, ok. ENOUGH talking and it’s time to be DOING. The workouts are going well–they have never been the problem. I’m back on the high rep/short intervals phase of the workouts, but am taking a day off between for more recovery. I swear I’m sore for 2 days after each one. GOT to cut out the sugars and start the eating journal again. Otherwise, I’m just being counter-productive and while I might not be wasting ALL of the hard work I’m putting in, I’m sure not reaping ALL of the benefits either. So it’s time to be BRUTALLY HONEST, start posting progress pics for the whole world to see, and making the progress move faster and in the right direction! Wish me luck.

Out of the major professional sports (I’m thinking Football, Baseball, Hockey, Basketball, Boxing, and UFC) and the non-Weight lifting amateur sports (Track and field, Wrestling), which sport/activity has the predominantly best physiques? Also, which athlete has the best build?

I think that I survived the Thanksgiving hurdle for the most part. The holidays are always a challenge for me because I LOVE to eat and there is so much to choose from. It’s so difficult to not just take some of everything. One more hurdle to go (Christmas) but for someone like me who comes from a split family, it’s more like 3 hurdles.
Just started my 6 week strength phase for lifting and it hurts SO good. I’m hoping and planning that by keeping these cycles shorter, I will avoid and sticking points and by adding in some cardio and taming my appetite I can continue to shed some pounds instead of gaining. If anyone is actually reading these things besides me–good luck to all and Happy Holidays!
