i have been neglectful of my online training blog here. i have not been recording my thoughts and training lately…..
well, i have decided to begin again - begin that is and record thoughts and training progress… well, in had my photo shoot - and i looked lean, cut, and buff. the shots went well - and ishall be in mags shortly (again)…
i am at a buff 230 right now — i broke thru the plateau of getting leaner (i was stuck at 235-238lbs…i am at a better 230 — which helps me w/ "dancing" too….
and how did i get thru the plateau? the only thing i can surmise is that i took added "rest days" - and i even skipped a few protein drinks/meals — but that kick started me losing more weight! more body fat! (i hope it was fat, not muscle that i was getting rid of –lol.. ooopss. to latte if it was muslcel. but i think it was fat….)
today, i train traps, delts, bi, forearms, and abs..surprisingly, my abs are very evident, but i have been doing very little work on them - just watching my diet….i HATE working/training my abs. i do not like the motion, teh exercises, the lack of pump..
i shall admit, i (like others) train for the elusive "pump" — and even though Mike Mentzer (& others) have stated that the pump does not create muscle — i think it does help (others agree w/ this assertion - more than that disagree).. .further, it offers psychological advantages too…the pump is almost "sexual". i said, "almost". lol
i am back to doing HIT trainig mostlly.. cutting back on voulme. it seems to me, that HIT makes much more logical sense. that it is more logical, more scientific. the volume approach to me, seems more like a method/strategy for merely replicating what others do, and to succeed at it, itis often "hit or miss" strategy, or needing ‘roids.
so i am back to following many of the dictums of Xrep philosophy, Heavy Duty Training, HIT, and Yates’ Training.
i shall say this, i am going as strict on reps training as possible. i do use an explose move on the upswing. but on the "negative" - i am doing it w/ intensity, w/ a slow motion… further, i am trying my best to get peak contraction on every single rep — which is a difficult thing - just try it! try to get peak contraction on every single rep, and really feel it.
working on peak contraction (a weider principle) , i believe hasd definately added to teh intensity of my workouts. further, i believe it has helped aid me to carve out more density and detail to my muscles. that is VERY good!
well, i am off to tan.. then i shall train today… bowflex power!

i am doing a chunk of HIT work. and also doing some typical VOLUME work. i am mixing it up - keeping the muscles guessing..

yesterday, i trained, delts, biceps, and forearms… it was a good heartyworkout! i made (continue to make) gains. great pump too!
today, i train lats, chest, and triceps..i should train abs too - but my energy levels are weak and i do not know if i hav ethe mental drive to do just that.. but i should..i have been making inroads on my abs, by continuing to melt fat off my frame- w/ LOW carb and LOW fat diet. and i am not really retaining water either….
i dance tonight. i have a "gig" about 45 minutes away… i tanned today too. my tan is giving the illusion of dense muscles w/ an air of leaness too.

had to go back to training once a day - in the morning, and NOT doing 2x a day split - that Sly Stallone/ Franco favor for competition. i cannot physically handle it. i am/was being drained too much…
uuuugggghhh…
i am deflated at this reality. i was looking forward to it. but…..

today, following the Rambo/Sly Stallone regiment that i have undertaken…i am today, training legs, glutes, and abs this morning… tonight, i am training traps, rear delts….then tomorrow, i go back and train tomorrow chest / back.. then shoulder/arms…
i am monitoring closely my recovery periods and time and ablity to generate energy.. if i have difficulties, or if overtaining kicks in, i shall have to discontinue (but i am doing my best not to discontinue, to fully see this "new" regiment through)…

as i have found on bodybuiling.com, i have Sly Stallone’s workout/training regiment..and i am going to try it out– if nothing else, it should get me out of "the rut that i am apparently in"- and from that standpoint, i"should" see some positive, results…
M/W/F
Morning: Chest, Back, ABS,
Evening: Shoulders, Arms, Abs
Tu/Th/Sa
Morning: Calves, Thighs,
Evening:
Rear Delts, Traps, ABs
due to my leg and foot injury(ies) i cannot really do any cardio — so i must hone in my diet EVEN further. and beyond that, i shall keep rest between sets to a minimum…(to elivate the heart rate)…
no such thing as a "light day"………3-4 sets. 8-12 reps….per muscle group..
i believe that this workout plan was instituted originally by Franco!

today, i am training lats and the entire back..i will do few sets of the Yates Rows… and instead, invert the grip to some degree - and do sets in this fashion..
i will incorporate t-bar rows…. further, i will do some standing Yates Rows and standing Bar Rows (where i am standing at 70 degree angle)– if done correctly, and you squeeze the muscle, then you can get a great pump and feel in the exercise…
i am dieting hard!! cutting back fat and carbs and calories…
