What to do runner knee pain and hip pain. I only like running!!!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I am an advent runner so I am not use to any other form of cardio.  I will admit that is how I started working out.  I have been running since I was 18 years old so I am use to it.  I have experienced dramatic weigh lost that is why I have continued to run for cardio.  I am now experiencing knee pain.  I have had it in the past but it subsided.  I have seen sports medicine doctors and chiropractors and have given me advice.  I need to know to adjust my cardio routine.  Also, I have started to take some spin classes.  Any experienced runners can give some tips? Anyone experienced this?  I was about to run a lot of miles over the next 3 weeks but this has put a halt in my workout plan!!!!!!!!! This is very frustrating.

Does having a large bustline make it hard to see chest development?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

I have a large bust line and I have a hard time seeing any development.  I bench press and do other chest exercises to develop my chest.  I have not ideal what is up.  I have noticed somethings with the women that compete in fitness, they have implants.  What is up with that?  I run and it seem like since I have been losing weight in other areas my bustline has went up in size. I know that this a wierd blog post but I am pretty sure some other women have this question.  Also I have noticed some of the women that compete have not bustline.  Is it something that I am missing?  I have tried to research this but have not found much.  I know that breast are nothing but fat tissue and that there is muscle under it and around it.  But  this whole thing is baffling me.  Any answers you do not have to be a woman to answer this.  I need to figure out what is going on.  Answers anybody?

Why do men in the gym stare so hard at women in the gym?

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I will admit I have been going to the gym for 10 years and I get stared at so hard.  It does not bother me but some women feel so uncomfortable. I believe that is why some women do not like going to the gym for that very reason.  I know men are going to look but some dudes stare like they have not seen a woman in  years.  I workout in the free weight area so I am use to men staring hard also I just ignore it.  What is up fellows speak your mind.  I have watch men in the gym look at every woman that walk by.  I see guys that really are not working out but just watching. especially the older men.  I work out at Ballys so it is like "wolves"  in some locations.  You walk in and dudes are staring at you like they are about to eat you alive for lunch. LOL.  What is up this is a topic women talk about a lot. Now I know some women who play into it so I am not blaming men for all of this.  I am not moved by it but sometimes it is over the top.  Any feedback?

Can one be a extreme runner and build muscle?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I run a lot and I also lift a lot.  I am just curious can one run a lot and be successful at building muscle?  I am at a turning point in my workout and I need facts.  Also I am pretty sure that there are others on this site that run the way I do and need this cleared up.  Also, I have heard so many things it is confusing.  This is a issue that is not discussed much also many just go by hearsay. I have started doing HIT cardio at the end of each distance routine.  I will do more HIT cardio.

Do runners need more protein?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I have been running since I was 17 so I use to the running thing.  I was told that runners especially distance runners need  more protein.  I was taking 200g of protein a day then I was told that 200g was to much.  I was running a lot.  I have been back and forth with this topic has well. I have done major research and different results are stated.  Is there any runners on this site that might have a tip?

Does running make your muscles small?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

I have been told by several personal trainers that running makes your leg muscles small.  I had a session with a trainer and he told me that my muscles in my could be bigger if I did not run so much.  I never had big legs anyway.  I will admit when I started running I did not left weights much.  I am having issues with this topic.  My hamstrings are not popping like most people.  My legs are very toned.  What is up?
