Sore From Head to Toe…LOVE IT!

My program has changed to a 5 days on, 2 days off.  My body is finished in 6 days.  So, I start where I left off the previous week.  I have been sore all week.  Monday was leg day, and I immediately felt sore yesterday.  My butt is feeling it!  After doing legs, coach has me doing 10 minutes of heavy resistance on the stepper.  Yesterday was chest day.  And today I trained bi’s, abs, and another 10 minutes heavy resistance on the stepper.  I know I’m targeting my weak zones, and I can’t wait to “unveil” the work once it’s time for contest prep.  Dieting down is always tough, but to see the transformation is worth it.

I meet with my trainer this Saturday.  We’ll sit down and check out the show schedule.  For now, we’re shooting for an August show and 2 others.  I think it’ll be in September, and October.

Coming home from vacation has been an adjustment.  Eating clean is okay, but eating 8 meals a day has been difficult.  Some days I feel very hungry, and eating 8 meals is no big deal.  Than other days, I’m stuffed, and I’m forcing myself to get my meals in.  Today I got in my cheat meal.  It was one of those days I just didn’t feel hungry.  I didn’t have a clue what to eat.  I ended up going to Wendy’s.   I was kind of in the mood for something sweet, but nothing came to mind.

It’s a busy schedule in my house right now.  My kitchen remodeling is just about finished.  We just have to finish the painting.  But we’ll be onto our next project shortly after.  This is pretty much the rest of the house.  The ceiling texturing will be the next step.  My oldest daughter started her race season, so we’re traveling throughout the state every weekend.  My youngest still does gymnastics 3x a week, and will be competing in the fall.  With all that going on, my family is the most supportive team ever!  So for all the competitors out there, don’t take your family for granted.  They are your biggest supporters.

My diet thus far has been light…carb wise.  With my previous trainer, for my off season bulk, I was put on a high carb diet.  I did grow, but unfortunately, I also put on excess body fat.  This diet, however, is a high protein, moderate carbs.  The carbs are strategically placed during my day.  I have no carbs on my cheat days, Wednesday and Saturday.  There are times I feel like, “Yeah!  I’m putting on some size!”  Then I stepped on the scale and my weight dropped to 136 today.  What a mind trip.  I’m eager to get my assessment from coach.

Until then…Keep training hard!
