Life Happens

Finally back to my routine. Had to spend an extra day in Chicago. The workout facility at the hotel was AWSOME! All machines, but I hit them a few times. I was right about the dinner table offerings there too.It was very tough. Couldn’t help but hit Don Shula’s steak house. After all, it was in the hotel! I was pretty good though. When I got back I had to replace the transmission in my truck. All that done and I’m back on track. I have to work a little harder to make up the lost week, but I feel good about it. The one good thing is I didn’t gain any weight! Picking up my son Wed. I get him for the holliday. Have several activities planned for us to work off moms turkey day dinner. I’m trying to get him to change his life style before he gets in the same shape as his old man. It’s an up hill battle trying to compete with video games, girls and cars!

Headed out

Worked a little extra tonight since I’ll be gone the next few days. All in all I had a good first week. The only real problem I’ve had is a case of tennis elbow that crops up now and then. I started getting it about 2 years ago.There is really no rhym or reason for it to show up. It’s not as bad as it used to be. I can usually push through it. Well, It’s time to hit the road. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Stay motivated! Back at it Tuesday.

Feeling great!

Day three and other than a little sorness I feel great. Getting ready to hit the first snag in my training routine. Heading out tomorrow after work to go deer hunting for a couple of days. It’s not a huge deal. I’ll be hiking some of the most beautiful mountains in Southern Ohio. My uncle owns 2000 acres of woods and farm land and we’ll cover about all of it. Lotsa cardio there. Sunday morning I’m headed to Chicago for a trade show. The hotel has a gym. I’ll probably try to check that out. Headed back Monday night. Back on schedule Tuesday. Hardest part is going to be maintaining my diet!Lotsa temptation in Chi-town!

Whipped!

I pretty well whipped today. Stayed up late to watch my Steelers punch the Broncos in the mouth last night! Got home and pushed through my workout tonight.Did shoulders and back along with about 20 minutes of cardio. Fixin’ supper and gettin’ my butt in bed early tonight. I get up at 3 a.m. Work hard! Go Steelers! Go Buckeyes!

Pumped!!

First day with new work out plan. Just got in there to get the feel of it again. Did about 20 min of light cardio then did biceps and chest. Light weight and more reps. Wanna get rid Of the Fat. Spent about an hour total. I got a decent pump and feel great! If anyone is interested the egg white and oatmeal pancake tastes like Sh*t and laid in my gut all day. All in all I had a good day and see better ones coming!

Excited!!!

Hittin’ the weights tomorrow! I’m really looking forward to it. I’m NOT looking forward to not being able to move Tuesday though! I know, I know. Being sore means I’m growing. Doesn’t mean I have to like it. I spent this evening cooking my food for the next few days of lunches. I think I’m a pretty good cook…..until I tried making brown rice. I’ll be investing in a rice cooker. I took Mr. Gethin’s recipe for egg white pancake with oatmeal. I’ll try it in the morning. The one I made tonight looks good. We’ll see. What I’m not sure about is how much to eat. I’m a big guy , but I really don’t eat alot. Do I just wing it and see how I progress? Is there a set amount? For instance, Gethin’s recipe calls for 6 egg whites and a cup of oatmeal. Thats alot of food! He did say that that is for him. I made mine with 4 egg whites and 1/4 cup of oatmeal. It still looks like alot. I would appreciate any advice I can get in this area. No matter what I do it’s gonna be better than what I’ve been doin’. As much as I’m dreading it, I guess I’ll take my before pix tomorrow and post them. I’m sure they’ll turn out real sexy! Well, thats it for now I guess. Have a good night everyone!

I and everyone else has pondered the question "Why are Americans increasingly over weight and un-healthy". I finally figured out the answer while I was at the grocery tonight fill my food requirements for my first week on the 12 week video work out. IT’S CHEAPER TO EAT UN-HEALTHY!!!!!!! I tend to be a little on the "frugal" side when I go to the grocery. I had a slight case of sticker shock. I was kind of amazed how hard it was to find some of my items. It’s like they are ashamed to put whole meal pasta out where it can be seen. It’s on the bottom shelf. After I found everything on my list I paid and left the store feelig proud that, for the first time in my grocery buying career, the were no cookies, candy, pizzas etc in my cart.

Anticipation!

Cleaned out all my crap food last night and gave 3 bags to my house mate and his girlfriend. Couldn’t believe what I had in there. No wonder I’m in the shape I’m in. The deer around here are in full rut. Headed out in the morning to fill my freezer with extra lean fresh venison….Hopefully! The deer hear are pretty much grain fed with very little fat. And the best part is there isn’t anything un-natural in the meat. It takes practice to grill it without burning it up. Way better than beef. If you haven’t had it, try it the first chance you get.

Getting started

After agonizing over a plan of action I’ve decided to give the 12 week fat loss video training here on BB. I think I need some sort of structured work out routine. Maybe that will help with my motivational problems. I’ve watched the introduction portion and am cleaning out my food pantry. Going grocery shopping this weekend. I like all the stuff on the shopping list, so it shouldn’t be too bad. Gonna hit it full bore on Monday after work. I can’t wait!!!!! Hopefully the weigh will start melting away. I’m also investigating the now popular body cleansing products out there. Like everyone else, I love greasey fast food. I’m sure cleansing would probably do me a world of good. My list of supps kinda bothers me. I’m sure I need to get my system in shape. The items I’ve chosen are mostly vitamin type things. There sure are a lot! I would appreciate advice from anyone willing to give it. Thanks, Kevin

Hello all!!

Well, this is my first day on BodySpace. I’m 40 years old and figure it’s about time to get off my fat ass and get in shape after promising myself I’ll start new years day for the last 15 years. Hopefully this site will give me the inspiration I need on those days when I wanna sy the hell with it and go get a huge prime rib! Anyway, Hope to hear from some of you!
