Where can I find motivation??

Monday, October 12th, 2009

So I spent a fantastic weekend in ATX with my fam-it is rare that my two sisters and I are all together in the same city!  One of my sisters is about to celebrate her sons 1st birthday and she looks fantastic!  She looks like she has lost at least 10lbs…and let me just tell you I think I have found them :(   So here is the thing.  I am not happy with my physique right now.  all else could not be better in life.  I have the job of my dreams and have the most supportive family and friends.  Competing, dieting and training used to be one of the things I did best…but some how I cant find the path back to success in the gym.  I know I know how to do it.  I have done it before.  But for some reason I cant find a way to get back in sync.  I am settled here and I know how to make good choices so there is no excuse.  i have decided to stop bitching about it and just do something about it!  if you have any suggestions on how to keep and stay on track I would love to hear it!

big changes…

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

So i recently made a life changing decision and decided to make a career change and relocate to Houston!  I have been here almost 6 weeks and needless to say it has been a complete change of pace for me…accelerated!  I am trying to get used to a new schedule and figure out how to incorporate training and clean eating into my new lifestyle.

I had a hard time making it to the gym for the first month however seem to be back on pace now.  I am at least showing up however my workouts have not been as great as i would like.

Europa Supershow!

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

I wanted to write a quick post to anyone who is attending the Europa Supershow in two weeks.  Although I was considering competing I have decided to go and support iForce athelete and bestie Melissa Merritt- She will be competing in 3 divisions! as well as represent iForce nutrition.  iForce has a booth at the tradeshow so be sure to stop by and say hello!

branching out…

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

So I am thinking of expanding my fitness realm into races.  I am not talking marathons here…just small little guys around town this fall.  I am a terrible runner.  And terrible is probably generous.  I am a big fan of low intensity or HIIT training and just want to switch things up a bit.  Also, I HAATTEEE saying I am not good at something…so I really just want to overcome this.  So this week I am switching up my training a bit!  However I also plan on getting back into the gym with a new training mindset.  I have taken a few weeks off of resistance training and miss it.  I think the break was good for me but looking how quick my physique changed I am ready to get some of that muscle back.  I guess the above seems a little counteractive…but I am talking 5ks people!

Capital of Texas Roundup~

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

I wanted to write a quick note in regards to the recent pics I posted.  I had so much fun attending the Cap Tex this weekend!  My boyfriend had several clients in the show and it was also great to watch all the familiar faces on stage!  This is the first time since I started to comepte that I have just watched a show!  Other than the O and the Arnold….I have always been in them!  I didnt know how it made me feel…but contrary to much believe I didnt wish i was on stage.  It made it clear to me that I was a true fan of the sport.  The show keeps growing every year and I know next year will be even better.  Two more weeks and I will be attending the Europa Supershow once again as a fan…until I decide my next move ;-)

Finally off sleep meds!

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

After two years and countless sleeping nights I have finally decided to ween myself off of sleeping medications.  There was a time when due to a combination of overtraining, under nourshing and stress that I was taking a mix of both perscription and over the counter sleeping medications.  At the time they did the trick, got me though the night with…on a good night…5 hours of sleep and little hangover effect the next day.  However recently the effects have seemed to linger into the following day and i realized that maybe it is time to titrate down my dose. I went off the perscriptions and for the past few months I have just been taking Tylonal PM.  I can say that now I maybe use it twice a week, at most!

Ultimitly I hate to say that i ‘need’ anything.  So it feels good to finally have a grasp on this condition once and for all!

6 weeks…to compete or not compete?

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I have been trying to decide over the past few days if i want to commit to competing in the Europa or not this year….

I weighed myeslf for the first time yesterday since my last show and although it wasnt great it also wasnt as bad as it could have been.  i have about 10 lbs to loose and a lot of physique fine tuning.

I will likely make my final decision after a call with iForce on Thursday.  We had a booth there last year and although i learned its never a good idea to work and compete at the same time…it would be great to be there and represent team iForce!

final decision…Friday!
