Something I’ve noticed

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

I really haven’t been that involved with BB.com however I did notice one thing.  People that work out look ten times better (if not more) then those that don’t.  I’m not sure why it is but it seems to be true.  I’m not speaking of only the women that post thier photos but the men as well.  Maybe it’s just me….Does anyone think the same or am I all alone on this one?

Still running

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

I’m still running.  Not as much as I’d like to but working on it.  I get a lot of soreness in my shins and thighs.  I was told this could have a lot to do with my shoes.  This weekend I’ll be out to buy myself a good pair of running shoes, and a bunch of bannanas.  Next week I’ll be a little limited with my runs due to the wife having surgery and I need to be help her through her recovery.  If I get time to run great if not I have my priorities, and can resume in about a week.  Other then that all is well here.

Weekend Workout

Monday, August 13th, 2007

This weekend, both Saturday and Sunday I hit the pool for laps.  I was told that swimming was an awesome workout.  Well I attempted laps.  Holy cow, my upper was sore Saturday.  However I had a lot of fun and went Sunday as well.  I just might have to incorporate lap swimming into my workout.

Another good morning

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Was able to get my butt out of bed again this morning.  Racked up another 2 miles.  I now it doesn’t seem much but hey it’s the begining.  I also know I’m going to step things up a bit in order before I start to see any difference in my body.  However, I don’t want to push myself to much, not be able to do anything because I’m too sore.  Little steps at first till I get my body used to the strain.  The run this morning wasn’t all that bad again.  Ended in a slow jog but still finished what I set out to do.  Felt a bit better the the last time so I might up it to 2.5 miles next time.

Finally Started

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

This morning I got up at 0530, got dressed, downed a glass of water and went outside.  Was hot but I knew I needed to get started.  I started jogging my 2 mile route.  So what if it ended up in a very slow jog by the time I ended.  But it felt good.  I haven’t done any running of any kind since Feb.  I was just glad I was able to finish without having to walk.  Once I’m able to jog 2 miles without to much trouble I’ll up it to 3.  Goal is to be able to jog at least 6 miles steady.

I feel good, legs a bit sore but not to bad.

Trying to get motivated

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

I thought about it for a while and decided that the best time for me to work out is in the mornings, before I go to work.  However, that would mean me waking up around 0500 – 0530.  This would allow 45 minutes to an hour for a work out or run.

This morning my alarm clock went off at 0500 and I had the battle with the snooze button.  I lost it won.  Anyway, I didn’t get out of bed till 0530 and felt like I didn’t get enough sleep.  So instead of going for a short run I decided to get in the shower and get ready for work.

Now I feel guilty because I just cheated myself.  I know that once I get started I’ll feel better and stick with it.  I’m just having trouble finding the motivation to start.

I’ll try again in the morning.
