Six-pack Program. Day 27. Day off

Finally, my body revolted! I haven’t given myself any rest or break for months now. And when ‘that’ time of the month comes, we ladies feel especially cranky. So, today was not my usual day: lots of doing ‘nothing’…eatin’ whatever makes me happy at the moment (no junk though - good thing I can’t look at the stuff now)….sleeping…TV watching…catching up on podcasts…playing on my Mac computer…and drinking a glass of rose wine before bed.

Anyway, tomorrow is another day and I’ll be all there!
p.s. Oh, and my honey bought me some new free weights today. Will do shoulders at home tomorrow!

Six-Pack Program. Day 26. Cardio

RussianMuscleMom shake (by popular request:)

It soooo easy to make. Just throw all the ingredients into the blender, add a cup of ice and  blend. Great for after workout. Hold the berries and you get a low-carb high protein shake that’s perfect for later in the day.

Of course, you can change substitute soy milk with reg milk.

Six-Pack Program. Day 24. Crazy Cardio.

My 10 year-old daughter wanted to go jogging in the morning. I was happy to jog with her. It was not long at all, but it’s a start for her. It was more of a warmup really. When we got home I showed her a little ‘leg routine’…

-Plie squats with a 10lb between legs

-Romanian deadlift (10lb bar plus two 10lb plates)

-Lunges

Calf raises (body weight)

Worked primarily on the correct form. She’s a kid and doesn’t really need weight-lifting. But when she is older she’ll appreciate what she learned from me, I’m sure.

Later in the day, I went to the gym to do my 30 minute HIIT on the bike and torture myself with my ab routine:)

My eats were as follows. (I created my own ‘RussianMuscleMom Shake. Ask for a recipe. Real easy!)

Went to a different location of my gym tonight (to meet my hubby after his work day). We’ll never go there again. It was a zoo! Too many people, too many stinky bodies. I mean, sometime you get a whiff of someone’s BO…I understand..it’s a gym, but when you can’t get away from the stench…it’s everywhere…it’s too much. Man, some folks really smell bad. Whatever happened to using deodorants?

Six-pack Program. Day 22. Little Cardio, a lot of Flatulence!

Did 30 mins of bike this morning on an empty stomach. Legs are starting to hurt…after 20-something hours.

Since I started upping my cals (protein powder mainly) …I’ve become more proficient in flatulence and bloating;))) I know bodybuilders know what I am talking about. What helps you, guy and gals to eliminate that?

Six-Pack Program. Day 21. Quads.

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Monday is my leg day, but I wanted to work with heavy weight and decided to use my hubby’s help. So, Monday will be my day off (or cardio, depending on how my legs feel tomorrow).

Hit the quads really quickly and heavy today.

- Three sets of 6 reps max of SQUATS (wide stance)

- Three double-drop sets of LEG EXTENSIONS (failure each time) <— people could really tell I had a leg day by seeing me walk out of the gym:))))

Six-Pack Program. Day 19.

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

30 minutes of moderate-to-heavy cardio in the morning….and the rest of the day enjoyed my daughters! They (and my hubby) are eating 6 small meals a day just like me now:) My 7 year-old know exactly what macros to combine earlier in the day and after 5pm. My 10 year-old now listens to her body and plans meals ahead. Hubby started packing his meals for work! Now my chicken breast, turkey, cottage cheese, brown rice, and eggs are gone by the middle of the week! That’s not a problem though. On the contrary, I am excited to see my family emulate my lifestyle. I know it’s good for them!

On my chart today you’ll notice 4oz of beer(!) Not a biggie. I haven’t had ANY alcohol in 6 months, probably. And I made sure I had it early in the day (around lunch time).
