Climbing Mountain Trails

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Memorial Day. Hubby’s home. We took our girls and took off to Blue Ridge Parkway. Took us an hour to get there. Spent over an hour climbing one of the ‘moderate’ trails. Wow! Talk about a cardio workout!

No other physical exercises today.

Leg Day

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

In the morning I felt an onset of a cold. Around noon I felt great and went to the gym. Was a great leg day. Good thing I felt good. Now, it’s much worse. Can’t breathe and sneezing all the time. On Sunday I’ll take it easy.

Here are my eats today:

Friday. Chest+Tricepts and Something New.

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Started with 5 minutes of cardio warmup.
Chest

-Warmed up my pecs with some bench barbell press with light weight.
-Then grabbed 30-pound bumbells and did 3 setsx10.
-Decline barbell press (3×12)
-Chest press for lower pecs (3×12)
-Flys (3×12)

Tris

-Skull Crushers (3×10)
-Cable Pressdowns - 70lbs  (3×12)
-Over the head dumbell press - 35lbs (3×12)

For my cardio I decided to give ’stepper’ a try for the first time. I would usually get on a bike, or run on the treadmill. Well, I definitely engaged some new muscles - mu butt is starting to hurt. I wonder whether I will be up for doing legs with my hubby tomorrow;)

End of Month Progress Pix

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

A few months ago I was trying to build muscle while trying to stay lean, hence restricting myself to around 1000cals a day. Big mistake. Muscles had no building material! Thanks to all of you here @ BB.com for your examples and advice. I’ve been slowly upping my calories and especially my protein.  My eats today:

Since I raised my cals I’ve had more energy to work out hard. I definitely see progress in my back, bis, shoulders and chest.

According to Omron my BF is %14 now with BMI of 20.2  I am 5′8 and weigh 132lbs.  My goal:  Figure competitor’s figure with washboard abs!  Things to work on: Legs….Legs are not defined as I’d like them to be. And of course abs. I have a little layer of fat over the lower region;)  ANY input is greatly appreciated!

Yesterday’s Post

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Just started this blog. Wanna stick in info on what I did yesterday.

The nasty cold is leaving. Day turned out great. Felt good enough to hit the gym at night (currently I go 5 times a week training only one body part/day). Today was ‘back day’. Started out with unassisted chin-ups. Did 3×3….not good enough yet, but a start. Then did unassisted reverse pull-ups. Boy, those are so much harder for me. Hand grip is wider and my lats are evolved more. That’s my weak part. Hoping to build up lats through these neg. pull-ups and low rep+heavy weight back exercises. Did this lat pull back machine with two 45lbs plates…..3sets of 6 reps….Man, I never knew I could do it. But the music at the gym was so bad and so loud that, I guess, I got mad enough to push through the exerciseAnyway, crawled into my house, took a shower, had a whey protein shake and the tiredness set in. Good tiredness. The one that makes you happy.

Gonna have some hot green tea, while watching "Good Eats" with my hubby, and then ‘lights out’! Hope, those who are reading this had a good day, too. If not, forget about it and start it all anew tomorrow! One of the things that keeps me going is this: "It took time to put on unwanted extra weight. It took more time to get the weight off. Do you really think that you gonna gain 50lbs from one or two cheat meals???" Of course not. So, don’t beat yourself over the head. It ain’t fatal.

Good night y’all!
