emotional running

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

I’ve read many transformation stories. I always pay attention to what it was that made them in the mental state to make a change. I have read a few stories about women who go through a divorce and end up exercising to work on themselves. They find themselves running and getting addicted to it, leading them to discover they’ve lost a great amount of weight.

I am FARRRRR from addicted to running. Running and I have a love/hate relationship. It does wonders for my body but I hate every minute of it. To get through my time, I have to do intervals with walking or else I can’t make it through mentally (probably could physically if my mental was there).

But tonight, I understand what those ladies meant. I had a bit of an emotional day today, but the running felt like therapy. It was a physical way of releasing the emotions without punching a wall or pulling out my hair lol. You know - there’s only so much crying you can do lol. Wouldn’t you know I ran through the WHOLE 30 minutes without a huff or puff. I was in so much need of just going and going. My mind was racing and my feet followed.

I always do time, so I’ve never looked at the mileage lol. I read that I did 2.5 miles. I have no idea if that is average or what. However, I’m thinking maybe I should get upset more often…LOL

Nah….

boy what a stretch I had to do afterwardst though. well, i did kettebell too.
