Great, another obstacle!

On the morning of June 6th, I went to a successful job interview and returned to the office. I went to run a work errand and as I turned to the right on a linoleum floor to go down the hallway, I slipped on my right foot. It went out from under me and I tensed up to try to save myself. I wasn’t successful and fell on my entire right side. The first thing I did was look up to see if anyone saw. No one was there. I stood up and brushed myself off and went upstairs to run the errand. Came back down a minute later and realized that I felt pain. Someone heard me fall but never came to check on me - isn’t that sweet?

Anyway, I had to go see the WC doc. Turns out I pulled all kinds of muscles. From the tendon in my ankle, to my knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. I have been recovering for the past two weeks. This obstacle was seen as a setback and I became a lil let down - throwing off my diet.

 So here we are, I had basically a two week break from hardcore diet/training/cardio. Everything was done lightly. I am ready to slowly get my training hardcore again in a few weeks. In the meantime, I really need strength to get my diet in order and remain motivated!!! This is where my friends of Bodyspace fit in. All you hard ass workers really keep me going!! I can’t stop absorbing all the wonderful information and stories you have to share.

 Needless to say, I got the job. It’s a promotion and a new challenge in my career path. I guess optimistic outlooks do work!! Afterall, I didn’t give up, I kept fighting with a positive attitude….I should lose 20 lbs by October. I gotta fit in my Jessica Rabbit costume ;)

Change of Direction

I found out that I had been intaking 775 calories for the past 12 weeks. This was startling news, but now I understand why I was struggline in my progress. Here I was, taking in 1/2 the minimum calories a woman needs to do normal daily activity - and on top of that working out 6xweek training and cardio. I went to my trainer at the gym, in despair because I had total belief in the program I was in. She up’d my calorie intake to 1200. Now I’m carb cycling and hope to see some actual steady progression!! It’s hard to go from 775 a day to 1200. I feel like I’m overeating. I actually get a cheat meal once a week now. She says when I go back to meal plan after cheating, my body responds to the bad food I ate and starts shedding. Now, if I can remain faithful to the plan I should not be disappointed. Can someone please keep me away from Starbucks?!?!!?! I have a weakness for Caramel Fraps!!

 I’m now walking/jogging at work with a co-worker whenever we get the chance, going to the gym and getting in 45 of training / 45 of cardio 6xweek, and am doing salsa and belly lessons. This should be enough physical activity…well there are others but let’s stay on topic. I’m going to Mexico in August and hope to have lost 20 pounds by then. I hope I still have your support out there! You all keep me going!!!
