This has been a good week. I can visually see changes in my body. I’m starting to lean out a bit more and that has given me a lot of motivation. I had a photoshoot this past weekend and it went pretty well. The photographer asked me to come back again next week for another shoot, so I’m looking forward to that. I saw some of the footage from the shoot and I liked what I saw but seeing what the camera picked up also helped me to see where I need to focus in on. No surprise it was my glutes, but I know I’ve made some progress there and I believe that the added work I’m doing each day at the end of my workouts is working.

I had a good week with the diet too. At the basketball game on monday (we beat Georgetown, yay!) I passed up on the usually stadium foods of pizza and jumbo pretzels, and got a fresh veggie wrap. Not only was it good, but I felt good afterwards instead of the guilt I know I would have felt had I broke down and gone with the pizza, which by the way is one of my favorite foods. This weekend will be a true test however because I’ll be travelling with my softball team to texas. When I went with them to arizona 3 weeks ago I demonstrated very little self control, but this time around I’ve vowed to myself to eat mindfully.

The hotel has a brand new fitness room so I’ll be able to maintain my cardio & core work. I’m down about 1.5lbs since the beginning of last week so I’m pleased with that too. My goal after this trip to just to not gain anything:)

it’s getting closer

Well I’m approaching the 5 week mark leading into my first competition of the season. Now is when I start to get nervous…am I doing enough?…am I strict enough with my diet?…will my suit fit right? I added another dimension to my training this week which in turn I hope will add another dimension to my glutes. I took an honest look at my butt today and I’m not too confident that I look any different from last year. But I just found out yesterday that there is a gauntlet stair master in our football weightroom down the hall, so I plan to hit that 2-3x/wk for the next 5 weeks leading into the competition.

I’m spoke to a photograher yesterday about doing a shoot this weekend so that I can get my website up & running as well as some promotional & marketing items.

Anyhow, thats where I’m at. Oh, the bodyweight is slowly declining and I’m down a bodyfat %, so I believe I’m headed in the right direction.

Let’s see…well I survived a 5-day trip across the country with one of my sports teams that I train. Having to dine out for all of my meals took a toll on my body but I was able to workout in the hotel fitness center each morning before the tournament games. It was also helpful that the other coaches and players know I’m training for figure and that I need to follow a particular diet. They went out of their way at times to try to eat at restaurants that gave me at least one reasonable food option. The good thing is I dont have to travel again for another 3 weeks, and this time i will be even better prepared, but also much closer to competition.

My goal this week is to continue to lose weight and to work on my walk & turns at least 2 nights this week. I was a bit sore in my quads last week from practice, so that tells me I have a long way to go before I’m stage ready in that sense. I’ve also fine tuned my workouts for my next 3-week cycle. I’m happy with the progress of my hams & glutes but they need a lot of sculpting if I really want to make my goal of placing top 3.

Oh…my new figure suit should arrive this week…How exciting! But, I’m sure I’ll get a reality check when I try it on :/

Finally seeing some changes on the scale. I’ve lost about 4lbs since new years, so this has given me a little boost mentally. I’m feeling as exhausted as I had been so I think my body is starting to get used to things, so I just have to make sure I dont get too comfortable, or pleased with myself cuz there is still a long way to go.

I spoke to my new suit designer last week and she’s awesome. She said my suit should be shipped out next week, and she gave me a ton of information and advice on promoting & marketing myself. I have done none of that, so my goal over the next couple weeks is to put together a "cover letter" about myself to distribute to local companies. I also need to get some new professional photos taken to help with the marketing and to set up my website.

I was in a car accident last week, but thank the Lord I was not hurt physically, financially though……

Anyhow, time for an updated program to keep things moving in the right direction.
