Every few days I feel a bit better about my training, but it’s still so early. I’ve started running more again, taking advantage of the indoor track facilities. I’m trying to get that definition & cut in my hamstrings and glutes. I had a it for the first time this summer, but I was also 9 lbs lighter, so my hope is with the ham & glute work that I’m doing, that when I lean out my booty will be exactly as I want. I specifically work my hams & glutes 3x per week and most of my cardio includes stair and or lunges. Today after 75min of cardio I did 5×15 single leg curls, 5×15 deep (but light) squats, 1x(30,25,20,15) Swiss ball leg curl & hip lift superset combo.

Now the diet…its coming. Its much better/cleaner than it was 2 weeks ago, and my cravings for certain foods (pizza, pasta, chocolate etc) is dimishing and under control. My supplements and protein should arrive tomorrow, so by next week I should be in full swing with all components….diet, supplements, and training. Evenings are my worst part of the day. I work from 7am-7pm most days so I’m able to plan & control my meals throughout the day quite well, but once I get home I just wanna go crazy, but most of the "bad stuff" is out of the kitchen so over the next few weeks I’m hoping those feelings will diminish too.

Well, I’m about 12 days into my new program. I’m still waiting for my trainer to give me my personal diet plan, but I’ve started eating clean…or at least cleaner. I’ve already lost about 1.5 pounds since getting back into a routine since the holidays, so I’m confident that once I get all the pieces in place that I’ll start seeing encouraging changes. I think that my biggest stuggle will continue to be my glutes. When i was 8 lbs lighter last summer I had the definition that I had been looking for all my life. So hopefully with the hamstring & glute exercises I’ve been doing since last spring, and several weeks of clean eating & some weight loss, I’ll see that clear cut definition again. I already miss some foods (sad I know), but i also feel better throughout the day, so I’m gonna continue to take it all one day (one meal) at a time.

With this wintery icy weather I havent been able (willing) to go outside for my long runs. I’m getting a bit frustrated because I truely enjoyed those hour long runs outside with my own thoughts. I can usually only tolerate about 30mins on the treadmill before my mind and/or shins begin to fail. I shouldn’t complain though because in the complex I work at I have a 200m indoor track, as well as stadium stairs. I guess I just miss the fresh air and the sunshine.

Less than 11 weeks to go and I’m really just beginning. I’m ahead of last year’s pace, but I’m still just beginning. I am excited though because I met with my new trainer, Bob, whose going to handle my diet & supplement planning. That’s the area where I need the most help so I’m very happy to have him in my corner. March 31st is the first show I’m aiming for. My current workout routine is 75minutes of various cardio and 30-45minutes of lifting. I’m lucky enough to naturally very muscular so most of my efforts will be spent on getting better definition in my glutes and just leaning out overall. As I get into a steady routine I’ll be posting my actual workouts and I’ll be using this as a place to vent frustrations from not being able to eat exactly what I want.
