A smile upon the face,
And yet empty inside.
Wanting to be noticed ,
And yet to hide.
Surrounded by love,
And yet alone.
Having parents ,
And yet no home.
Wanting to reach out,
And yet no words said.
Having to sleep ,
And yet no bed.
Wanting to eat ,
And yet an empty dish.
Seeing a bright star ,
And yet no wish.
Surrounded by crime,
And yet no fear.
Wanting to cry,
And yet no tear.
Losing to rejection ,
And yet to cope.
Having to survive,
And yet no hope.
