It is funny, but true.......... sometimes the gym is your best friend........ It is always there waiting for you to go back to it........ it is a shoulder to lean on, a friend to rely on and a motivator to pick you up........ I suppose that on certain days it could be your worst enemy........ but you know........ there have been many days that if it weren't for the gym, I would have probably curled up in a ball somewhere and cried for hours........ Thank Goodness we can turn to working out..... and even when we are down and out...... Eventually that drive comes back...... sometimes it just takes a little time......... SMILE, hon........ you'll get there again..... keep pushin'.............. :)

hey sammi, that's exactly what it's like....a rollercoaster. i'm doing my best to even out my moods (without medication but it may come to that).
i can feel myself 'coming back' and by monday i will be back to 100% :)
i just need the weekend to reorganise my thoughts and focus on my motivation.
thanks so much for your kind thoughts x

to abrimgu - thank you. the gym is a life saver. when my depression was at its worst i could barely make it out of bed and rarely out of the house but the gym (even when i'm feeling crap) makes me feel human :)

It is the hardest thing to sit and watch your self slide backwards, The weight goes back on, the brain slows down and the attitude falls from optimistic to flat out yuck. And the whole time you are helpless to change what is happening. BUT! Then something does change. I'm not sure what it is. But you're up and going again. Fully committed, on fire, working hard and chasing your goals. Its a roller coaster ride. I hope you can ride this low and chase the highs again real soon babe. I know you certainly have the strength to do it.

Keep up the good gym work, it´s a live saver, I know, I´m there, I´ve felt the pain of being in my mental basement looking up and see no light. So I say it again, keep on working out, it IS a live saver! !

Don't go by the number on the scales all of the time. Better to track your skinfolds.

Is it because when you lose the weight maybe there isn't enough muscle mass underneath and you just fill sunken and deflated? That's how it has been for me when I try to do it on my own,so I got a trainer finally to help me do it correctly, because on my own I wasn't. It can be a little more complex than you think. Anyone who has competed has had a trainer behind them I'm sure.

Seriously, you know it's your psyche that is messing with you, so keep busy to distract you from focusing on the insecurity so much. If you keep busy, you won't have time to think about it.
