Beginning of Week 6……

Monday, September 28th, 2009

A huge day! This morning was shoulders, biceps, abs and cardio, then walk to work. After work I walk to the gym and do 50 mins more cardio before having dinner and then onto 40 mins of bootcamp style training as part of the 12 week challenge… phew!! I’m tired but I feel fantastic. I feel like I really accomplished something today.

I’m still eating 100% clean and it’s easy now. Things are way on track :) and I start doing my Cert III in Fitness next week. Yippee!!!!! :)

I am so excited. I am so excited for the future. I am so excited for life’s possibilities and where they will take me. Gee, isn’t it amazing how just exercising and eating clean can change your entire outlook on life. :)

ahhhh rest day :)

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

i took a full rest day today (if you include housework as rest. lol)

feels good to rest completely. most other sunday’s i have gone for a long walk but today i decided to COMPLETELY rest.

tomorrow is the start of another big week and by the end of it I want to have lost another 1.2kgs. the end of this week will also be the half way mark. It’s amazing how quickly time passes.

i know the 12 weeks will be up in no time so must keep up the pace. i’ve had to reset some goals and i’ve surpassed the ones i set previously. WooHoo!!!

So now my goal is to end the 12 weeks with 15-17% body fat and weigh 56-57kgs.

From there I think my goals will be to maintain my weight but to increase muscle mass and when that time comes I will be looking for more advice.

So far I am loving the journey and i’ve learned to incorporate it into my regular life…for example I had dinner with friends again last night so I ate my dinner at home and just took along some nuts to nibble on while they ate beef & black bean. lol. they still find it amusing and always ask when I’m going to actually ‘eat’ something with them. (that may not really come until i feel i have enough muscle and a fast enough metabolism to burn anything ‘bad’ i eat)

tonight is drinks for a friend’s birthday. Again I will be eating beforehand and not partaking in anything other than water and leaving around 8.30pm. (must be in bed by 9pm) luckily drinks starts at 7pm so at least i get in 90 minutes of fun ;)

hope everyone has had a great weekend :)

End of week 5 of 12 week challenge….

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

I weighed myself this morning but not before fully preparing myself for disappointment….i thought i was due for a plateau but luckily that didnt’ happen. :)

I lost another 1.4kg this week!!!!!! I am sooo happy about that. I still have a long way to go. I losing weight but just look like a smaller version of myself. There is a lot of work to do to actually change my ’shape’. I still carry all of my ‘bulk’ around my waist and hips. I see alot of plyometrics and running in my future. lol.

All in all I’m extremely happy with my progress and for me to say that is huge…. :)

addicted…..

Friday, September 25th, 2009

i am addicted…..to clean eating…every day i look forward to every meal….

i love my chicken, my sweet potato, my vegies (especially love zucchini!!), my oats, my protein shakes, my eye fillet…….

it’s all sooo yummy!! cravings for ‘bad’ foods are almost non-existant….that’s not to say i wouldnt’ love to chomp into a great meat pie and beer battered chips but i know how crappy i will feel afterwards…..not just physically but mentally as well.

i’ve been eating 100% clean for 5 weeks now and can see it continuing for ages!! i’m ‘planning’ my eventual ‘treat’ meals. after the 12 week challenge finishes there is another two weeks before the Gala Dinner. Those two weeks will still be clean eating but for the dinner I’m going to have a ‘treat’ but still within reason. I’ll have the chicken but not the bread roll and not the dessert. I may have a couple of drinks (white spirits only. lol) but i haven’t really decided yet.

My next treat wont’ be until Xmas day where I will factor in my mother’s trifle and some chocolate :)

Everything is on track for keeping this up for the rest of my life……. :) i’m happy xx

keep on truckin’…. :)

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

well, i’m well into week 5 and feeling really tired. had two very long days in a row, double cardio and appointments and i’m exhausted but somehow i manage to find the energy to keep going…..it’s not intense cardio but at least i’m trying :)

my body fat sits on 25% now, down from 30.3% four weeks ago. my next goal at week 8 is 20% and to lose another 3-4 kg’s and i’m doing my best to achieve it.

i can see some change which is keeping me motivated but i’m still soft and have a long way to go…..

diet is still going fabulously i must say…..i bought myself a trolley cooler, a really big one that can hold two days worth of food and i love it!!!!!! :)  i hate carrying heavy things over one shoulder so the trolley really saves my back and is really easy to maneouvre.

well tonight is another round of cardio…lol. next two nights after that i will take off because i have other appointments and dont’ want to overdo it.

weight goal for this week - 62.5kg. that’s 1.1kg loss…….i hope i can do it! wish me luck…..

bodybuilding comp….

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

i went to a bodybuilding comp today, had a great time with friends but was really disappointed with the majority of the line ups… out of all the female competitors i’d say only 10% looked like they should have been there. most needed to lose a great deal more body fat and build more muscle. some girls had absolutely zero definition so very disappointing.

maybe i’m just being bitchy but to me the overall standard was quite low.

On a good note I won a Cert III course!! That will save me heaps of $$$. Cannot wait to get my certification and live in the industry :)

1st weigh in……wooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Friday, September 18th, 2009

I’m very happy with my weigh in this morning. :) For the last four weeks of hard work and clean eating I’ve been rewarded with a weight loss of 5.7kgs!!!! yeeeehaa!

All of my measurements have gone down too. I’ve lost over 10cm from my waist!! couldn’t believe it.  i actually made her do it twice because I was so shocked. Lost 3.5cm from my hips as well! :)

My body fat measurements were taken and everything there is down as well. It was taken from 7 points. I just have to give my measurements to my trainer to work out my body fat percentage.

But last time the 7 points added up to 148.4mm and this time it was 102.8mm.

It has given me a renewed sense of motivation and excitement that my goal CAN and WILL happen!!

IT’S ALL WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Day 28 and 29 of my 12 week challenge….

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Yesterday was quads and today was shoulders. Got a great pump in my shoulders :) but within 5 minutes they look ‘normal’ again. Cannot wait til they looked pumped like that when I’m ‘cold’!!!

I can see a little bit of change in my upper body but nothing yet around my midsection. I know it will be the last to ‘come in’. Tomorrow is our first weigh in. I’m kinda nervous! Hope I’ve lost some centimetres around my stomach.

Will let you know how I go. Wish me luck :)

Day 27 of my 12 week challenge…

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Today was Back, Chest and Rear Delts and of course cardio. Not sure how many calories I burnt because I had to send my heart rate monitor away to get the battery replaced…..gee i miss it! cannot wait to get it back. :)

People keep telling me they can see a change but I still can’t see it. :( I know the scales have changed and I’m soooo grateful for that because if I didn’t I’d be more upset.

I still see sooo much fat on me. I do like my quads though. The one muscle where I can see some change. :)

Days 24 - 26 of my 12 week challenge….

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I’ve tried to step it up this week so for the last three days I’ve done double cardio - morning and evening. I’m no good at HIIT. I do intervals but really hate going totally 100000%. I still try to challenge myself though so hopefully this week I will see a loss of at least 1kg. That’s my goal.

Everything is pretty much on track. This Saturday is the first weigh in and measurements - it will be four weeks exactly. I am quite nervous about my measurements. I dont’ really feel like I’ve lost any but after losing 5kgs I must have lost at least SOME centimetres.

Wish me luck. :)

My trainer has decided to reduce some of my food. Instead of 120g of chicken I’m going to have 100g. I’m going to eliminate my pre-bedtime protein shake and eliminate my pre-workout meal of protein shake and banana. Instead I’ll be having my glutamine and BCAA’s on water. Not sure how that is going to go…i start doing that from tomorrow. I’m worried that I’ll be starving and not have the energy to work out but i’ll try it anyway. :)
