gym’s 12 week challenge…

yes, my gym has a 12 week challenge beginning on 22nd august and I can’t wait!! i’ve already organised my trainer (she’s competed before and she’s trained me before too)

even though it doesn’t start for 3 weeks i’m going to start now. i’m almost fully recovered from the flu so i’ll be able to put in 100% now. (loathe winter flus)

my goal is to lose as much body fat as possible. measurements are taken at the beginning and then every 4 weeks. i want to get down to 13% :)

woo hooooo!!!!!! soooo excited.

soooo tired…

still not feeling 100% today but it didn’t stop me from seeing my trainer for legs day.  i’d have to be on my death bed to miss a training session with Leah. :)

i really struggled to get through all the exercises but i DID complete them all. :) but my diet hasn’t been great. :( i’m really disasppointed.

but i just have to pick up. maybe some vitamin c or throat lozenges will help.

day 5 and feeling ill :(

i’ve really pushed it this week and i’m feeling it today. i woke up with a sore throat and really lathargic.

this morning i did a spin class but took it really easy then did chest and abs but my mind and body wasn’t really in it. being sick is soooooo frustrating.

so tonight i’m going to have an early one and HOPE i feel better tomorrow. i have a big weekend too. training saturday and sunday and Pink concert on Sunday night. WOO HOO!!! PINK ROCKS!! X

another big day. this morning was back day. again i did supersets as much as possible and a little ab circuit as well then onto 40 minutes of cardio.

I also walked to work and after work i jogged/walked back to the gym to make it in time for Boxing circuit class. So calories burned today - 1260. :)

Diet has been good. Not 100%. For example tomorrow I’m going to have a rissole which i’m sure contains more fat that I would usually have but…still good. I’ll start a fat loss/comp diet in the next month or two for 12 weeks which will take me up to xmas.

there’s also a 12 week challenge on at my gym. I’d love to do it but not sure if I can afford it. Anyway, still going strong. :)

day 3 - woo hoo!!

1st legs day of the week (i love leg day)

hack squat (3 feet placement - shoulder width, wide, narrow) 10 reps of each then step out lunges and finish with pulse lunges.

leg extension supersetted with reverse lunges

45degree leg press (3 feet placement)

prone leg curl

stiff leg dead lift supersetted with hip raise and squeeze

THEN onto cardio. I went a little lighter than usual considering I did plyos last night but still burned 730 calories.

After work was Spin class. Unfortunately they didn’t turn the air conditioning on until 5 minutes before class so I was sweating buckets and felt a little sick half way through so I didn’t burn as many calories as ususal. bugger! Was only 365 calories. Nevermind….

All in all today was good. Diet was good. All is good. ;)

second day…time to try plyos…

I’ve had a good day. This morning was Biceps and Triceps which I did as supersets with very little rest to keep my heart rate up. It was good. Also threw in some abs as well then onto 50 minutes of cardio. Burned 770 calories.

After that I walked to work which ususally burns around 90-100 calories and tonight had a my first plymetrics session - 10 minutes treadmill warmup then 10 jump squats, 10 push ups, 20 jumping lunges, 10 pop squats and 5 burpees then 2 minutes rest. We did that 3 times. Really burned my quads. Never really done plyos before so it kinda hurt. lol.

It made a really nice change from regular cardio but hard on the knees and feet. So total calories burned today - 1050. Not bad.

Diet has been really good. I’m hoping to lose 10kg by Xmas. Only 22 weeks. Can’t wait for the holidays!!!

it has begun…

a great workout today.

shoulders and abs. i did supersets to keep my heart rate up and burn calories. my legs and butt are still sore from saturday but i still managed cardio and managed to burn over 700 calories.

smith shoulder press / smith upright row

lateral raises (drop set)

front raises (drop set)

dumb bell rear delts / plank

hip lift and lower / russian twist

fit ball crunches

i’m pretty happy with my effort…….it’s all on!! tomorow is another day closer to my goal. :)

when will tomorrow get here??

i’m downloading songs to my ipod (finally figured it out. lol) and the music is soooo motivating me….. i can’t wait til tomorrow morning and get back to training hard in the gym. :)

side note: why do gyms generally play such crap music??? my gym puts in a tape and just presses play and let’s it run for what feels like months on end. It’s sooooo annoying, so demotivating and it makes me angry their apathy and lack of respect for their members. I’ve written several complaints in their suggestion box to no avail. I am now going to write a formal letter of complaint to the manager and i really hope something changes.

 

prep for the week….

Sunday is prep day for me. I’ve washed and ironed all of my work clothes….gym clothes are ready….lunches are prepped….i’ve worked out my training for the week…..and i’ve cleaned the house (well, for the most part anyway. lol)

So now is the time to maybe hit the shops for some window shopping, then sit, relax and enjoy this beautiful winter Sunday afternoon :)

end of time out…

still having a tough time with life…even got a speeding fine in today’s mail…. (just great)….but my ‘time out’ ends on monday.

i’ll be back into it with a vengence on monday morning….diet and training….22 weeks until xmas holidays so i’ve really gotta work it!! gotta get off the extra weight i’ve put on in the last month or so too.

i’m planning lots of HIIT, supersets, giant sets and keeping my heart rate up. i’m really looking forward to it.

i want to try other forms of exercise too, rather than just straight gym cardio. will definately need to get outdoors more when the weather warms up…..do some hill runs, stairs….just outside in the fresh air. :)
