diet

I think I have the diet down now. I’m pretty sure that for the first few weeks my subconscious was trying to see how much ‘bad food’ I could get away with and still make gains.

I’ve consciously realised now that I’m not ’superhuman’ and I’m just like everybody else and must diet the same. lol.

I’m keeping my calorie range around 1300 - 1500 (closer to 1400 really) so that I get enough nutrition but also lose body fat.

Bring on the body fat loss!!!!!!!

awesome day! legs and cardio this morning. 880 calories burned and an excellent food day. Am very happy. It’s 8.30pm here so am about to get ready for bed. Everything is ready for big day tomorrow. :)

Day 22 - back on track

Did some abs and cardio this morning but didn’t have my usual ‘get up and go’ (maybe it’s my weekend cheats catching up with me) lol

Had weight training session at 7.30pm tonight with my trainer. We did shoulders, biceps and triceps. Great workout. I don’t usually like training very late but my trainer has had to rearrange things this week. I have Legs at 6am tomorrow so it’s a quick turnaround.

Am back on track dietwise. After posting new photos I’m more determined to see more changes. :)

Day 21 - not so good

Not so good today. Again diet off a little bit. I ate out. I did however request no butter, no mayo and no cheese on my sandwich but did have bacon (mmmmm bacon!!!) I even had some hedgehog slice but didn’t finish it. It didnt’ taste good at all. Back to 100% tomorrow.

So tired from lack of sleep last night. Had a couple of hours this morning but it was broken sleep. I’ll def be in bed early tonight. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Day 20

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Had an awesome Legs workout with my trainer on the Gold Coast. She Rocks!!! Again guys, if you are ever in Queensland have a great workout at Industry Health Club at Biggera Waters. Great facility, Very Clean, Great People (everyone is so supportive and it’s such a happy environment) I cannot say enough good things about Leah and Mark at Industry!!

Had a garage sale at my parent’s place so my diet did go off the rails a little. Not particularly ‘bad’ food but not my regular diet of chicken, sweet potato and steamed veg.

Also didn’t manage much sleep with a teething 10month old (my niece) next to me. (how do single parents manage??! you deserve a medal!! for me it was only one sleepless night and my parents took her when she began crying at 3am. To all You Single Mums - I take my hat off to you and bow humbly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

 

Pizza!!

Now there are 2 things I love. Pizza and free food. Well today at work free pizza was on the table for lunch. Yummy pizza. I made a mention that I couldn’t have any but thank you anyway. I reminded them at work that especially from now on I cannot have any cheat meals.

One guy replied that pizza is not a cheat meal. What?!! He explained it as wheat base, tomato paste, cheese etc and that it’s not bad food. I reiterated that I could only have REALLY clean food.

He still thought the pizza was clean!! (No wonder he is overweight). Can really annoy me sometimes when people, even after a polite ‘no thank you’ will still try to push it. It was difficult enough to say No and eat my chicken and broccoli while smelling pizza without all that persuasion.

I am happy to report of course that I didn’t even have one mouthful. I’m going to make up a new mantra that any ‘bad fat’ or ‘bad food’ is 10 steps backwards (therefore further away from my six pack) :)

I want that six pack BAD!!!

Day 19

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I’m so glad it’s Friday!! Had a good day but I’m tired.

Had Chest and Abs training this morning. I got into a little trouble for my camembert! D’oh! I’m not allowed ANY more cheat meals. ;( That’s ok. My trainer stressed the importance of a 100% clean diet if I really want to see major changes in the next few months. I’m ok with that because I can still have my low cal jelly :) I’ve thrown out any food that isn’t appropriate.

This weekend will be a little bit of a challenge. I’m spending it at my parent’s house so all of my own food won’t be at hand so I’ll have to go shopping up there. It will be ok, I’m sure.

Day 18

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Wow. What a day. Did Back this morning and cardio where I pushed myself again to actually RUN at 12km ph. Felt good. Tonight I also tried a Boxing Circuit class and it was so much fun. Burned nearly 500 calories (but of course I had camembert when I got home, oooops) I feel bad. I have to stop this. My friend came over with her own ’snacks’ last night and left them here. I should have remembered and told her to take them home with her. D’oh! Another lesson learned.

Because MY food in the house is purely healthy stuff. Nothing bad. At least I didn’t have any alcohol. ;)

I’ll be doing extra cardio for the next month to make up for this ;)

Side Note of Happiness

True happiness.

In Spin class last night when we got to the final cool down track I looked at my HR monitor and I had hit over 400 calories and I found myself smiling without thinking (i almost had to stop myself from laughing)

That is the truest smile I have had in a long time and it felt AMAZING!!

I hope everyone else gets to experience that kind of joy, contentment, satisfaction…whatever you want to call it. :)

Day 17

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Didn’t get to do blog last night coz a friend came by to visit. I did have a little ‘cheat’ some whole wheat crackers and a little dip. I feel bad for it but am not going to beat myself up too much.

My goal is to compete May 2010 so a couple of little slips wont’ kill me but I am DEFINITELY going to limit them.

Had awesome workouts yesterday. Did legs in the morning with a little cardio. My weights have gone up which is great. I love seeing that I’m getting stronger.

After work I did a Spin class and although I was tired I still made myself do it AND I broke my calorie record!! 440 calories!!! My next goal is 450. :)

Loving it!
