Slacker
I am finally starting to get serious. Lately I haven’t been doing much to lose weight. I was going to join the army but when a recruiter failed to meet with me after school one day I changed my mind and slacked off on working towards my goals. A few weeks ago I met with some marine recruiters who gave me a diet to follow where you can lose 10 pounds in 3 days. I followed the diet for a week but than lost interest and gave up for awhile. Recently I have decided it was really time to make some serious changes. I had a drug problem which was not helping me to lose weight in anyway, I was unmotivated and unhappy. I was able to kick the drug problem and since than my mindset towards losing weight and joining the marines has changed. It has been tough though I had to give up my friends but it was for the better. It’s been about a week now, I have lost a few pounds and excersized every day. I have tried many times before to change my body but I always end up losing site of the goal and giving up. This time around things seem different. I am more excited to go to the gym and to eat healthier. I don’t know why I feel so differently but it’s a good thing and I am looking forward to seeing changes.

I was in the same mindset as you are now. I wanted to see results today and lost interest if I didn’t. I have a good friend at work who finally helped me see the light. My change would need to be a life long change, not just a quick fix to drop a few pounds. I was at 309 lbs last september and I lost about 65 lbs in 6 months, but I have been stuck at 240 - 245 since March. I have not been as strict on myself during this time and because of that, I am not making the progress I could be making. My goal weight is 210, but I will make small permanent changes in my lifestyle to help me eventually get there. If you slowly remove bad foods from your diet and get some excercise on a regular basis, your body will transform. If it takes a year or two, who cares. you will have the body you want and you will have fun meeting new people along the way. If you hang around people with goals similar to yours, it will make it easier on you.
