Over 1/3 of the way there. Yesterday (Friday) wasn’t too bad. I did get a late start in the morning for my rounds, but we wanted to weigh-in and measure first thing. Diet is still going strong and nepa for the day was walking/cleaning in the afternoon for 2 hours and a light-moderate intensity weight session of just close grips and shrugs. This is the easiest diet I’ve ever been on. I wish I knew about this when I wrestled (life would have been sooooo much easier).
I ordered 35 lbs more of the Optimum Whey for the rest of the diet (for 3 people.) So, aside from the daily meal the total cost for 3 adults to do this thing for 28 days has been $460, or around $153.33 each. I’ve spent more than that on chicken and eggs in a month lol.
The daily meals have turned into something special. For 9 days straight now we’ve sat down at the dinner table (complete with table cloth, flowers, etc.) and all 4 of us have eaten as a family! It really makes a difference. We can’t just snack or grab something on our own when were "hungry" or "ready to eat". There is a supper time, that’s when we eat, and here’s where we eat it. And when it’s done we clear the table and talk for abit before putting the kids to bed. Is it corny to say that a diet is helping to make our marriage and family even stronger and happier?
Tommorrow after church services we’ll be heading to my family’s homestead in WV for a 90th birthday for my Grandma and to touch base with some old friends of ours. My folks rock. Dad’s already got their blender out and is preparing a protein and green veggie meal for the day without my even asking! He and my sister have dropped carbs/been carb cycling for close to a year now and were very excited to hear about Kim and my new venture. Our boys are geeked about birthday cake though! Can’t wait to see ‘em dive in and get sugared up

Week one is done! Yesterday went well with the diet and NEPA (walked in the basement). Dinner was 40 clove chicken and a raw veggie tray. Weigh-ins and measurements were:
start Day 8 change
weight: 236.5 223.5 -13lbs
BF%: 21.59 19.96 -1.53%
neck: 16.75 16.25 -.50
shoulders 57.5 57 -.5
chest 47 46.5 -.5
waist 44.5 42.25 -2.25
hips 43.5 43.5 same
upper arm 18.5 18.25 -.25
mid thigh: 29 26.5 -2.5
calf: 17.75 18 +.25
Squat, bench and dead have all stayed the same ( I didn’t max, but my work weights felt good)
Squat: 420×3 425×2 easy
Bench: 335×3 340×2
Deadl: 495×3 475×5
So, 13 lbs down, 7 lbs of fat gone, and -13 inches in week 1. 3 more weeks to go.
I know that week one is the most drastic due to water/glycogen/waste/etc., but heck, I’ll take it!!

I had comments! Yesterday I was doing some home visits (home bound members that I see once or twice a month) and EVERY ONE OF THEM (five total yesterda) said something to the effect of "You look great/thinner/good". 2 even commented on weight-loss in my face.
The diet was going well, but that just gave me even more drive.
30 min walk at the hospital yesterday, all of my shakes in, and dinner was 8 oz of a rotisserie chicken (the dark meat, my wife had 8 oz of the white, and yes it was a small little bird) 1 C peas, 2 C salad, 2 tbs blue cheese, 1/2 of a 2.5 inch red tomato.
Tommorrow morning will be the first weigh-in since beginning this thing. I just hope it’s worked well for my wife too.

Another one bites the dust. Day 5 is in the bag. 30 minutes walking around the hospital for NEPA today. Got in all of my shakes. I did discover that 3 scoops of vanilla and 1.5 tsp cinnamin is awesome for a little variety (but make sure to blend it with ice and not just shake it, the texture is alot of it). Workout was bench, pullups, dumbbell rows, weighted crunches, roll-outs, and tricep pushdowns. Dinner was 7 oz of mexican shredded chicken (chicken that was cooked w/taco spices, water, salt, pepper, and a touch of vinegar) salad, 2 T of caeser, 8 green olives, 1 C green beans, and water.
Here’s to weigh-ins in 2 days!!!!

Another one in the done column. Started out the day with a 30 minute walk outside with the boys followed by playing in the back yard with them for another 45 or so. Then shake and a workout. Workout was Squats, front squats, EZ curls, concentration curls, weighted crunches, Glute-Ham raises, and some cooldown on the elliptical and recumbant bike. Post workout shake, Lunch shake, then to Dick’s sporting goods for a new speed bag bladder and a chair for the youngest, steak and broccoli with a salad from Ruby Tuesday’s, evening shake, SLEEP!
I didn’t take my fiber for the first two shakes today (just forgot) and WHAM! At 5pm exactally I was almost sprinting into the closing mall to find the restroom. Took psyllium as soon as we got home and voila, no more problems.
Legs are tired today, which is always a good thing.

I’m a bit tired this morning, but still feeling great. Yesterday was golden. Stuck to the diet: 4 shakes and Dinner was 8 oz ground beef (pre-cooked weight) on the foreman grill, 2 C salad, 2 tbs ff blue cheese, 1 C green beans, 1 slice american. NEPA was 30 minutes of walking in the basement in the morning and 1 hour of mowing the lawn in the evening.
These shakes are actually delicious. Still can’t believe how good they are. The secret seems to be LOTS of ice and blend the heck out of them. We’ll be ordering (at least) 4 more 5lb tubs this week to finish the diet with. Going to get extreme milk chocolate, banana, strawberry banana, and cookies n’ cream. Might add in rocky road and apple pie as well.
I am wondering what my weight is. It’s difficult not to go jump on the scale before day 7. But I know that the daily fluxuations would drive me batty, so I’ll wait.

Another one behind me. I got in 45 minutes nepa outside with the boys (I like walking outside SOO much better than inside!). Stuck to the diet like glue. HSM was 8 oz dill chicken, 1 C greenbeans, and 2 C salad w/2tbs caesar. Also discovered 1 Tbs of cocoa powder in 2 scoops of Vanilla Whey makes a dark chocolate flavored shake! Pretty good.

Well…we began! We started yesterday. So far it’s been pretty easy. The shakes are delicious and arn’t giving me that bloated, nausea-esque feeling that some powders do. Hardest part might just be forcing myself to get in the NEPA and drink all of the shakes! Towards the end of the day my mind was slipping into it’s old "that’s too much food, don’t eat that" stage. Glad I worked out all of the macros before beginning.
I got a 45 min walk in yesterday in the basement. Dinner was 8 oz of rotisserie chicken w/o skin, 1 C peas, 2 C salad (lettuce, snap peas, radish) and 2 Tbs fat-free blue cheese.
I also went for my first massage of the 28 days last night. Some new-to-me techniques were used. I’ve had swedish a few times before, so no worries, but this particular practicioner used hot stones and glass cups (sort of a suction thing) as well. It felt good. Not "my wife rubbing my back" good, but good like a good stretch and deep foam-rolling. I’ve rescheduled for another massage in 2 weeks. Hopefully, the "Cup Kisses" (hickies, sucker bites, whatever) will be gone by then! I do feel better though.
One down, 27 to go.
Sorry, don’t know what’s up with the weird font.
