Minor set back

Ok so a couple of weeks ago I hurt my right wrist while lifting. I thought I had the bar back on the rack and when I loosened my grip realized that I didn’t have the right side back on the rack Ouch!!! So yeah and being an idiot and not resting the wrist and taking proper care of it, I hurt it really badly last night while doing the over head press (don’t ask why I was doing overhead press with a sprained wrist LOL) So yeah, now I can’t apply ANY pressure on my right wrist, driving today was very fun by the way LOL! Luckily I finished my weight lifting for the week! I’m hoping that these next few days will help heal the wrist and I will just work the lower body in the beginning of next week. Hopefully the pain will subside and I can go back to lifting (ligther for awhile of course LOL!)

There are so many wonderful and supportive people on this website and you all inspire me so much! I don’t feel like my family is very supportive of me….they just kinda laugh it off and talk about how unattractive I’m going to be. I know they do not intend to be mean, but it would just be nice for someone to congratulate me when I tell them that I’m lifting more than I did a month ago, ya know? My mom is pretty supportive although she has made it very clear that she thinks women with muscles are not that attractive. I am so sick of hearing my family say that no guy is going to want me….for one I’ve NEVER had a problem attracting a man in my life so I don’t see why I would have trouble now that I’m losing more fat! Also, I feel like the man who I plan on being with is going to be as conscious about his physical health and overall health just like I am. I mean why I would I want a man who is a couch potato and consume 3,000 calories of junk a day? That doesn’t fit my lifestyle! Ok I think I’m done ranting LOL! I just wanted to thank everyone who reads this because it’s great to know that I can come here and be cheered on by like-minded people. You are all so awesome!!!!

I kicked my butt tonight!!!

This is such a good way to start off the workout week! I had such an amazing workout tonight! I had a great run this morning….I ran the bleachers for 30minutes..boy oh boy did my legs feel like spaghetti noodles afterwards LOL! Tonight I worked out my hamstrings and back(traps, middle and lower back- no lats)….I just felt so awesome afterwards! I’m still trying to get a hang on the proper macros to take in, but at least I know my workouts are great! One step at a time I will get there!

A goal attained!!!!

Yay! So my goal was to be 24% body fat by my daughter’s birthday and I made it there and my daughter’s birthday is still about 2 weeks away! I am so excited! I am so happy that I am finally getting my nutrition together! I mean I have been eating healthy for years but when it comes to getting my macros straight I am definitely a work in progress. I am about to go run for 30minutes and I just feel great! No wonder it felt as though my skirt was about to fall off yesterday….I’m losing fat!!!! I wonder what it means that my thighs have lost fat (side note: I looooveeeee my legs they just feel so great! I know once I drop some more fat my legs are gonna be out of this world! because I can feel the muscles and not trying to brag..but they feel pretty sexy!) ok back on track so yeah my thighs got smaller by 1/2 inch but my hips got bigger by 1/2 an inch……does that mean I’m getting more booty! Hey I will take it….as long as the fat goes down gimme the booty!!!! Can you tell I am super excited!!!! Ok off to get ready to run up the hill!!!! Have a wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL! FRIDAY!

An amazing workout today!

I had such a great leg workout today!!! As you all know I work out at my home in my garage. Normally, I do my squats with weights only as heavy as I can snatch and pull over my head. Then today I did some thinking and I used my weight bench sort of like a squat rack. Since the bars on my weight bench can be adjusted so that I can do incline and decline as well as flat bench presses, I elevated the bar as high as I could and lifted the weights onto my back from there. I was able to squat 20lbs more than I normally could because I’m not strong enough to snatch, pull and clean (I hope I used the right terminology) that much weight! I was so excited because I was able to squat 135lbs. This is the first time I’ve ever attempted to do squats this way. even when I go to the gym I use the smith squat machine so it’s never just me with the weights on my back without any support. I am so proud of myself and I just can’t wait to see how much stronger I’m going to get! I also tried a new form of deadlifts…I really kicked my butt tonight! YAY for great workouts!!!!

*I also realized that I was measuring my waist from the wrong area so I had to adjust my stats*

Ok I am having one heck of a time trying to figure out what my nutrition should look like! I was told that I should eat 1900 calories based on my stats and that should help me drop fat as well as make sure I’m getting adequate protein for my muscles….do you know how hard it is to eat 1900 calories worth of healthy food!!!! I am just feeling like a horse right now! I think I may be eating too much but I’m gonna give it a try for a month and see how it’s working out. I know my diet is what has held me back in the past and has kept me from reaping the maximum results so I am very determined to get that together…wish me luck everyone!

Fabulous workout!!!!

I had a fantastic workout tonight! I mean it just felt so great!!! I haven’t felt this good after working out my biceps and triceps in a looonnnnnnngggggg time! I’ve been doing a lot of research about lifting and how to lift for certain exercises and to achieve certain goals and I am so glad that I read all those articles!! I mean I don’t know if I’m just on an endorphin high or what….but I feel GRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!

making progress

So I’ve been  doing my cardio and lifting my weights and I feel so much better! I am so happy that I got back into it because I really missed it. I am just so glad that I finally found a routine that fits my schedule. I am working on gaining more knowledge about lifting and how to lift to benefit my body type. I have a medium frame and I am a mesomorph. I also am trying to keep my goals realistic. I see a lot of people on here who are going for a bodyfat % in the teens….but yeah that is not for me. I think the lowest I ever got was around 20% and I was very happy with the way I looked and felt. Honestly I think with my bra-size and hips that I could probably not get any lower. I doubt if I will ever get a six-pack and I don’t think that I want one LOL! I am defining my goals on my own terms. I got a lot of inspiration from reading Ms. Davis’ blogs and her profile. I think she is just awesome because, like her, I would probably not ever fit society’s standards of beauty but I am going to be fit and I am a beautiful person…so I am very happy at the progress I am making both mentally and physically and I am also ready to make this a  lifestyle change and keep my exercising in my life, just like I have kept healthy eating in my life for the past 7 years!

Developing my home gym!

As you know I have a daughter, she’s almost 2 now, and since I am a single mom who is also working on her master’s degree and teaching credential….going to the gym is just not in the budget(the money budget and time budget) so I’ve been developing my home gym….we have so much exercise equipment here and I’m the only one who uses it! So I went out and bought some more plates for my olympic bar and I !designed my own little workout plan that has a lot of variety so my body should stay shocked. I’m really excited because I realized that I’m stronger than I thought! Because my dad only had 35lb plates …I could only lift that, which is 70 plus the bar, which i believe is 25lbs so thats 95….but I know I could lift more than that so now that I have my new weights I’m so excited for my next chest exercise day so I could see how much I could lift! It feels so good to be lifting again….I love pushing my body, my mind and myself to my full potential

Wow it’s been awhile!

I am soooo horrible….I completely just stopped posting after I moved! I do apologize for those who have come to my page and it seemed as though I have been unresponsive….I will definitely update my stats this week. Although I stopped posting, I have still been exercising and I even got back into running! I run 3 miles 5 mornings out of the week. I look forward to reconnecting with everyone and checking on your updates!
