This past weekend I watched the movie and I thought it was a great documentary. It explained the pros and cons from a non judge mental side. I thought it was put together very nicely. I would recommend watching it to anyone that has an open or closed mind about steroids and performance enhancers. Personally I don’t take steroids and don’t plan on it but I’m not against it. Because really if you do take steroids it doesn’t mean your going be the next Mr. Olympia or bench 500. You still have to do work in order to achieve those goals it just helps you gain some size.

Can you still train as hard without them? For me I have followed the training solo for most of my time in the gym, but I do wonder if that is slowing my progress down. I am looking to get back into the heavy lifting that I was accustomed to before the summer hit. So with starting a mass workout I know I will need to put forth all the energy that I can for maximum results. My last mass workouts I found myself not able to go that extra rep or the extra 10 pounds without thinking what if. The gym I was at was a small local gym and some times there was no one else in the gym. The gym I’m currently at I am new and don’t know anyone at so I don’t feel like being that guy that asks, "can you spot me." Not that it bothers me, but I know if I’m in the middle of doing a set I don’t want to take time away from my next set. So I’m stuck with using less weight and less reps, or I have to use the smith machine. Which I don’t mind, but only if it is after my muscles are taxed. So the question is, is it best to have a training partner?
