Why So Tired?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

I have so many questions I am so sorry to have to ask but hey, you wont know unless you ask right? Ok so the first one is this….
Why is it that I am SO tired? When I did a ton of cardio I had so much energy and I didnt need that much sleep. Now that I am lifting heavy I feel like I am in slow motion sometimes. I always get the question “what are you taking for energy?” I see so many products out there like no explode and red line and wonder if it is because body building takes more out of you? I wonder???? If you know please let me know. Other wise I am begining to think that maybe I need to eat more or something. I get about 8 hours of sleep a night and sometimes feel like I could sleep 5 more!

The other question is this….Since this new plan of eating more and lifting heavy and less cardio I have put on 5 pounds. I dont know if this is muscle or fat??? I feel bigger but I just know that the because of the scale. I dont care about the number at all but want to know if you think that when you start to lift if it is more common to loose a few pounds or gain a few pounds. As you can see I am new to this so I need some answers before I change my plan. Thanks to all of you awesome people. What would I do without ya?!?

One more thing!

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

How many grams are considered "Low carb?" Would 100 grams or lower be considered low carb? or 50 grams or less? hmmmm. I need the answer to this! Also if I am trying to go low carb is it ok to have good carbs like sweet potatos and oatmeal? those are the only two carbs that I really eat.

What’s on the Menu?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

So I decided last night that I think that that dairy is going to be out! I have broken out on my face (HATE IT) and I refuse to look like I did when I was in my teens so I am going to cut it out. It is just going to make it that much harder (I am a vegitarian with the exception of fish). So what will my menu look like now with out greek yogurt and cottage cheese? I will tell you and then you tell me if this plan looks ok. Ok?

8:30-The ultimate meal + soy milk and protein powder w/ strawberries

10:30-Egg whites and soy beans w/ salmon

12:30-egg whites and salmon w/ spinach

1:00-weights (50 minutes)

2:00-protein shake w/ glutamine

3:30-1 sweet potato, 1 can of light tuna w/ mustard only

4:30-cardio (30 minutes not every day 3)

6:00-protein shake

7:00-salad w/ some talapia

what do you think? I think that I am getting all that I need with out the dairy. I will also take my fish oil and other good for you supplements! Let me know of any protein small meals that you like that doesnt involve meat (except fish) this is hard I am telling you. I want the muscles but cant have the meat and the dairy. I am going to just have to be wise and plan plan plan. Hey guys! ITS ALMOST FRIDAY!!!!!

Answers Answered!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

So, everyone on here are angles! You all have answered my questions without wanting to keep all the tips to yourselves! I love that! I just found out that the creatine may make me gain weight….That is no good. I want to gain muscle and not look puffy. Maybe creatine is not good for me? I am going to stick with the glutamine though for sure. I think that it does help with recovery. Maybe all I need is my Whey and glutamine? If you know of anything else that would help me build some LEAN muscle mass with out making me look fat please do tell. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for you help!

Creatine and Glutamine

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

So I bought these two products but I have no idea when to take them. The guy at GNC says to take creatine 30 minutes before (I bought the powder pure form) and then take the glutamine in my post workout shake (since my shake is 100% whey). Is this right???? I read on here to take it the other way around. I dont want to take the stuff wrong. I am calling on you guys yet again!

feeling better.

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

So I am starting to feel better. Sometimes you just need a kick in the ass. I have got to remind myself that this takes time I have only been going at it since January. It could take me a year to transform. If it takes a long time than that means that if I stick to it it will stay that way. Loosing fats just means that it will come right back. I need to remember that. I am going to have to just breathe. Everyone has those days right? Of just saying, "I am tired of this, I want to eat what I want and not be sore the next day!" Luckly I say things like that but dont get off the wagon. I think it but dont do it. Last night I bought some Glutamine and Creatine. What do you guys think about this stuff? I will be taking 100% Whey and the creatine (before workout) glutamine after with my whey. Is this right? Will this help with my muscles? I just want some definition already!!! I think that it will. It is just when I step foot in a health store I get overwhelmed and dont know where to start. Usually some huge guy that works there tries to sell me hydroxycut and that is the LAST thing that I want in my body. I managed to get a really nice guy this time that wasnt about selling me crap. You guys have been awesome and I am SO glad that I found this site! Keep given the love!!!!!

I am asking for some help.

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

So tonight I took some pictures of my self and I just am so upset. I have been working my ass off for months and all I see is a still out of shape Heather. I dont know what I am doing wrong. I have posted my meals (if ANYONE sees something that I can change to help me see better results please let me know!) Something that I dont understand is that I got on the scale this morning and I am 122. I have been about 115-117 for a while now. This is what is weird….I have shrunk…I also take measurements and I gained pounds but lost inches. Does this mean that I lost fat and gained some muscle? I dont know. I am so new to all this. It scares me because I cut my cardio to 3 days instead of 5 and now I have gained 6 pounds but lost inches. I have been feeling like giving up recently. I need some encouragement and to meet some friends on here. I dont know ANYONE that is into what I am right now (getting lean and loosing this body fat once and for all.) I have my workout plan (lifting heavy 5 days a week and cardio 3 for about 20-60 minutes.) What else can I do. Look at my meals, maybe I am doing something wrong there. I am getting about 140 grams of potein. Is this too much and that is why I gained? Maybe I am bulking up? I kinda feel like I am. Anyway, this is a cry for help. I have come a long way (I have lost 15 pounds and working my ass off). I just need someone with great results to kind of take me under their wing. If you think that you can help please message me. I WILL listen and do it. This weekend hasnt been that bad as far as food goes (I tend to cheat on Saturdays and Subdays). I am going to start over tomorrow (the only thing that Mondays are good for!). I would love for someone to help me so that maybe I can start a new plan tomorrow. Thanks so much for reading.

So I am trying to meet up with Will, WILL POWER THAT IS!!!

Monday, August 11th, 2008

So the weekends get me everytime. I did good but not good enough in my book. I drank on Saturday. :/
I am trying so hard to have some will power but it is just so damn hard when Margaritas are right infront of your face!!!! I will do better this week. No drinking, seriously. I ate pretty well. My calories were a bit low yesterday but there is one good thing about Mondays…You can start over. So today I am going to go low carb and high protein. Completely clean this week. One out of 6 isnt that bad but I would rather not give myself any cheat days until I reach my goal. Today is legs and then 45 minutes of cardio. I am going to cut down in the cardio this week to see what happens. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Newbie!

Friday, August 8th, 2008

Sooooo, This is my first blog. I am so excited about abody space. I do have to say that I was kinda afraid of this site at first. Everyone looks so great and looks like they totally know what they are doing. I am getting there. I have be serious about weight lifting for only a few months. Here is my story…. In January I was fat and really hated the way that I looked. I like so many others got some photo’s back and was totally grossed out by myself. I then decided enough was enough. I started going on the site The Daily Plate and started tracking my calories. I became obsessed and was aiming for 1000 calories and try to burn half of them to leave me with 500! Can you believe this shit? Anway, I started to loose. Once that happend I went even more over board and tried for 500 calories and to burn all of them. I went from 140 to 115 in about 4 months. I was bitchy, hungry and tired all the time. I met other people on the site that was doing the same thing that I was and encouraged me all day. I THOUGHT that this is what it was to be healthy and diet. I have never been on a diet or watched what I ate, seriously I didnt know better. I was going to the gym for an hour on my lunch break to lift weights and then right bcak to the gym after work to swim for an hour or do cardio for an hour, 7 days a week. I was sick. I was so upset with myself everyday because I would look in the mirror and see no progress. I was literally working my ass off for hours a day and seeing no results. Just bones. I wanted muscles!!!! I was at the gym one day and asked this guy for help. I said "I want to build some serious muscle…" He asked me what I ate and what was my regiment. I was hesitant to tell him but I did. He looked at me and was like "Girl, you need to eat!!!" " Your body is eating your muscle as soon as you are building it." If you want to be healthy you have got to eat clean and lift. I went home that night and really thought about it. I logged on TDP and went to my groups page (they have groups where people discuss stuff and help each other out.) I thought to myself… Get out of here, look at some other groups they have. I found one called Femine Body Builders and was interested. I looked at the people there and liked what I was seeing. I saw this one girl on there and I immidately e-mailed her (her abs were amazing) I asked her to look at my food diary and exercise and begged for her help. She took the time out to explain everything pretty much to me. You see I was lifting but I was lifting like 5 pound weights. She said FIRST you must eat about 1400-1500 or MORE if you are doing what you say you are. Second (the best advice she gave) she said if you want muscles you have to lift HEAVY, you have to really push yourself until you cant lift anymore. I thought…"I have never done that." She said one thing that has never changed for me through my whole time of body building is when I am walking out of the gym I am hurting. My muscles twitch and I feel sore. She told me about clean eating and what that meant. Told me about protein shakes and even set up a work out plan for me. I have been doing this for about 3 months now and WOW the results are amazing. It was hard to up the food and calories I will admit but after a while it was easy. I am not a bitch anymore and I have the energy to get through my work outs! The best part is that I got away from that eating disorder inducing group! Seriously I was going down the wrong path and didnt have any idea or know any better. I feel great and I am going to work harder than ever before to get to my goal. I want to be LEAN and to have abs AND to have a low body fat %. I am trying to gain a little weight and a lot of muscle. I read the book : Burn the fat, Feed the muscle and boy did that help too : ) What I need now is good encouragment and tips. If ANYONE wants to look at what I am doing (I have my meals and exercise on profile.) and tweak my plan PLEASE feel free to. I am still new and would love some advice from the ones that know. I love this site already and really feel like a new person! I wanted to tell my story incase someone was to look and wonder about the same things that I did. I would love to be an inspiration to anyone. Thanks for reading this and keep tuned in I will have some progress pictures very soon!
