Change in momentum

2 Tuesdays ago I had an unxepected change in momentum…. literally. My bike stopped moving and momentum sent me flying over my handlebars onto the road. I now have a broken collar bone and some light scaring to my face. I’ve been out of the gym since then and it’s been driving me batty!

Next week I hope to start doing intervals on the fixed bikes, taking spin classes and doing core work on my fitball. My main obsticle is getting dressed as it’s a very long winded process when you can’t move one arm above the elbow. It’s also pretty exhausting from the pain.

The major change in momentum is also whether I can now compete at the end of September. I believe I can do a decent cut over the next month or 2 while my upper body is out of action but can I then hold/re-gain my upper body strength and size in time?

I’ll be talking to physios and trainers next week to see what their thoughts are but the idea of not being able to compete is one which is doing my head in.

This photo was taken 2 days after I came off. Luckily I’m 90% back to normal now.
