Major milestones

Over the last few days my new focus has been paying out bigtime!

Saturday I set out to do a 10 minute run warmup to my shoulder workout but it felt so good that I knocked out 45 minutes at 9.5km/h. I’ve never run longer than 25 minutes in my life, but this time I wasn’t thinking about it, just doing it. Knocked out a solid shoulder workout afterwards.

Today I didn’t get to the gym until very late, when all the after work crowd where there but I again tuned in directly to my brain and body and finally did 3 solid sets of DB presses at 22.5kg. I’ve been sitting on 20kg for waaaaay to long and struggling to get the 22.5’s of the bench. Once warmed up I did it! Followed up with some flye negatives  and upped the weight on my tricep kickbacks too. To top of my workout glory I got complemented by a guy who was shoulder-pressing what looked to be my bodyweight. He’d competed over many years and said my body was pretty much on track if I wanted to comp later in the year. What a boost! I tried not to indulge in my own glory for too long and instead decided to refocus with 5 minutes of evil sprint work (20/10secs at 14km/h), I was nailed but recovered pretty fast. It’s like my body can take so much more now!

Isn’t it amazing how far you can push yourself all from changing your mindset! That’s great to hear that your so motivated. The fact that you ran for an extra 20 mins than usual motivates me. I’m usually a slacker in the running department :( Keep up the great work :)
