More ‘progress’ photos uploaded

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

I can’t see too much progress and it’s really getting annoying. I’m 1 month in to my cut and am only noticing the slightest of changes. I can see a bit more ab and the tops of my arms are starting to V. My legs hurt like hell from all the cycling I’m doing, but it’s certainly better than hours in the gym staring at TV’s.

I did legs today and as always hated it. I think I had a pretty solid workout none-the-less. I wish I hadn’t used biking as an excuse to stop legs a few months back as my strength is shit now.

I’ve added a lot more ab work to my daily workout and it seems to have fixed my lower back problems. I’m waking most mornings without any back stiffness. Hooray!

I haven’t weighed myself in a few days so I’ll jump on the scales at the gym tomorrow morning. I’d so love to get to the low 65’s and next week drop below.

Shoulders today

Friday, July 20th, 2007

and man did i feel it afterwards. I was carrying around my almost empty bike bags and could hardly hold them my delts we so sore.
I did (x3×12):
BB Squat presses  (25kg)
Seated alternating DB presses w nuetral grip (12.5kg)
ez-curl upright rows (27.5kg x8 reps- ouch)
DB front raises (8kg)
DB side raises (7kg)
DB bent over raises (6kg)
A quick stint on the upper back and delt machines (25kg & 12kg x 2 sets)
and alternated with abs sets between each set of every exercise, occasionally threw in some bench step-ups to keep thing ticking along.

I didn’t upload any photos last week as I was feeling very down on myself and my progress. I haven’t taken any yet this week and and full of tofu now so it wouldn’t be nice. I can see the V in the tops of my arms starting to come back and my abs are getting stronger so I think I’m on track. I’ll get some new photos up over the weekend.

New progress photos

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

It being Thursday on this side of the world, I’ve uploaded new progress photos. I think I can see a little difference over the past week. The scales say I’ve lost over a kilo, which is unlikely according to the calorie count but the body works in mysterious ways and i seem to loose faster than I gain.
Apparently I’ve netted 1241 calories average over the past 7 days, averaged 440 exercise calories, eaten 1681 calories average. And averaged protein/fat/carbs 128.3g/43.6g/188.4g (31%/24%/45%). I think I’d like to up the protein by another 4% and drop the carbs accordingly but I’m generally happy and feeling as energised as anyone who wakes at 5.50am can.

Yesterday I did 25 minutes on the treadmill with my heart-rate targeted at 70% walking at various inclines. Then did 35 minutes elliptical with 2 minute intervals at levels 12 and 7. My heartrate was at 90%+ by the end. Wednesday’s normally my rest day but I’m trying to step up the cardio a bit while the weather is to yuck to bike.

Legs and abs today. goodie…. not

I’ve mistressed the chin-up!

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

That’s right, I knocked out several sets of 2, bodyweight only.
I did back and biceps today. My arms are really starting to look awesome and all this bike riding’s bringing out the legs nicely too.

I’m eating breakfast before my workout (6am) then downing a post-workout drink at 8.30 and my stomach’s rumbling again by 10.30 so I eat half my afternoon turkey sandwich, which ties me over until 1, hungry again by 3, and by the time I’m home from work at 5.30 I’m positively shredding the house. Dinner always takes at least 40 minutes from when I get in the door and the boy thinks I’m mad for cooking so early. After dinner the hunger’s finally gone and with exercise I’m scraping in somewhere under 1350 calories a day. Maybe I should ditch breakfast until after my workout, but I generally need something to power my bike and workout. Might switch to an apple and a glass of milk and split the calories into another 150 calorie meal. Food’s already packed up for tomorrow and breakfast’s made so I’ll have to try it out Wednesday.
