As always, great workout. It can not be overstated the importance of having a good training partner for motivation. I tried reps that I would never have even though of attempting if Ron had not been there. I failed on them all, but just the same, I believe 90% of muscle is grown on that last rep when you try it, and can’t quite get it.

I will be having the carb/protein re-feed meal every 3 -4 days as I prepare for the big weekends coming up. I am running on 135g of carbs per day and with all the activity I am right on the border of Ketosis. This refeed meal is supposed to keep my thyroid happy, jole the metabolism, and replenish the glycogen stores while at the sametime control insulint release. I have to eat the meal in this order with only 6 oz of water an hour before the meal, and 6 oz an hour after the meal. It makes me a little nervous taking a 770 calorie meal with 136g of carbs, but I am not questioning it. I have never been this lean for this long and I am very open to what ever keeps me lean, healthy, and at the same time make me better. I felt like I was cheating on my diet though, DELISH!!!!

Man I feel like Superman right now. Last night as I was closing up Healthy Bodies I felt like I had found the perfect nutritional menu. I could still be running on the excess carbs from my splurge Sunday when I probably took in about 1000g of carbs, but either way I am enjoying the energy. I am going to use it to get a little extra out of today and start the day with a brisk ride to the gym before arm training. I am just waiting for it to get light outside!

I trained with one of my most dedicated clients and we had a great workout. Short and INTENSE, that is how I like them. It only took us about 45 minutes door2door. I am leary of going to heavy on these because of the problems I have been having in my left shoulder and arm. Todays workout was not especially heavy, but it felt effective and more importantly it did not hurt me. I was literally crying for the lords help about half way through the drop sets on biceps. It was a tough one.

I have a new nutritional menu that I made last night that I began using as of 4:00pm yesterday. I was nervous about using it at first as it is very different from what I am used to. More calories than I was on, more fats than I am used to, it was making me doubt weather or not the plan will work. I had my training partner look it over though and he thinks it will be perfect. Kettlebell training and the certification course I will be taking in three weeks is very demanding in he thinks it will not only keep me lean, but give me pletny of energy at the same time. He also recommended a "carb refeed" meal twice a week to keep my thyroid functioning optimally. It is all so new to me, but I prayed hard about it this morning and just like it was made clear to me that God wants me to do this show, it was made clear to me that I need to make this leap of faith and use this nutrition menu to make me even better in Washington. Ron will keep tabs on my skin fold measurements just to make sure, but now that I am clear and not clouded with fear and doubt, I am excited about what the future will hold!

Great workout this morning. My delts were on fire the whole time. As we were working out my shoulders looked absolutely HUGE. Round cannonballs. The last rep on the machine presses was memorable as I was pushing so hard with my feet I lifted the whole universal off the ground and shifted it. Next time we will put a heavy dumbbell on the base to hold it down.

I am still easing back into this as it is going to be an INTENSE few weeks before the show. I may be a bit of a lunatic to even try it. Capital City Naturals followed by two weekends off. RKC I certification course Aug 1st, 2nd and 3rd, then 5 days later the Washington State Naturals. I can’t think about that though. It gets overwhelming and then I get stressed. The only thing I can focus on is today!!

I moved the weight really slow and really squeezed on each rep. I could afford to do that since I went a little on the light side. Good workout and no injuries. Only 3 more chest workouts to the show.

WOW!! What a show. I will be posting my summary of the show in a training blog, but let’s just say it was VERY memorable. I ended up winning the middlewieghts and basically coming in "second" overall. I know there is no such thing, but thats what the blogs are saying and that is what I felt as we were standing in the middle of the lineup and all the judges seemed to be looking at us. I can honestly say that I poured my guts out on stage and did all I could do to win. Further more there is nothing more I could do to me more prepared. Competitors were calling me the "skinless man" I was so shredded. I got beat by a legitamate "Pro" and I am not at all disappointed with the results. It just makes me want to work harder and get going for it again. Speaking of which…….THE QUEST CONTINUES!!
WHOA!! Hold on, it looks as if God is not done with me. The INBF Washingtons State Naturals is 1 month away and it looks like your truly will be there. As though by His command, my flight is booked and paid for by my very good friend and competitor Ken Stevenson, a room has been sponsored to me and more importantly my Wife, my Mom, all my closest friends, and God it would seem are behind me 100%. So hold on as the ride continues. It will be a hard earned ride as I have my RKC (Kettlebell) certification happening August 1st - 3rd and I will have to be on top of my nutrition to keep my energy levels up, but not add any unwanted fat. None the less after a lot of prayers and shedding a lot of tears, I am on board 100% in my heart and soul and am ready to get started.

Last day, it has finally come. One solid year of effort, timed meals, intense training, dieting, cardio, setting and meeting goals, 2 shows, one Overall Championship and the Capital City Naturals has arrived. I am all packed and ready to go. I have a few small errands to run and then we have to be on the road to Rancho Cordova by noon. My Polygraph is scheduled for 4:00pm along with my check in, weigh in etc.
Carbohydrates: As I mentioned last night was a long night. Tonight will be no different. Today I up my carbs by eating the same 7oz servings of potato, but today I eat 15 of them. I started at 2:00am. I will continue eating those meals every hour to every two hours until 11pm tonight. 525g of carbs or 2100 calories from carbs
Protein: I will have either 1 scoop or 1/2 scoop of VP2 with each one of those meals. Roughly 252g protein or 1004 calories.
Water: Today I will cut down to just over a gallon of distilled water.
Potassium: Today I increase my potassium intake to 2 teaspoons (200mg) every hour.
Sodium: None except for what is in VP2, 70mg or 735mg

Step 3 in the final days prep is to reduce water intake, increase potassium load, and increase carbohydrate intake. I can’t shove a whole lot of carbs down all at once or I will "spill over" and start holding water. I have to eat little bits all day and most of the night. 420g of carbs sounds like a lot, but not when it is 34g at a time. It will be a long couple of nights so I will have to set out all my food and supplements on the nightstand so I can just sit on the edge of the bed, eat, and go back to sleep.
Water - Yesterdays goal was to consume 5 gallons of water in a 24 hour period. I met that goal, barely. There is just a couple of swallows of distilled water in my 5th and final container from yesterday. So today I will reduce that to 2 - 2.5 gallons of water.
Potassium - The schedule yesterday called for 1 teaspoon (100mg) of liquid potassium every other hour. Today I increase that to 1 teaspoon every hour.
Carbohydrates - Potatos will still be the sole carb source for the next 3 days. Yesterday was 10 meals consisting of 7oz (Precooked weight) of white Russett Potatos equalling just over 1500 calories from carbs. Today I will increase that number by getting two extra meals at the end of the day making the total 1700 calories from carbs.
Protein - VP2 is the exclusive protein source until the day of the show. Yesterday I had 6 scoops of VP2 spread amoung the 10 meals that I had equalling 600 calories from protein. Today I will increase that to 8 scoops spread across the 12 meals equalling 800 calories from Protein.
Sodium - Except for my mess up with the hot sauce, I did great on the sodium intake. I calculate my total daily intake of sodium to be right around 500mg for the day. This is mostly from the VP2 which has 70mg per serving.
Creatine - I am reloading with Creatine today with 4g 5 times
