Legs Tues

There is just soemthings I like about squats.  I don’t know if it the looks from the "meel" as they see 300+ loaded up an the bar or the fear when they see me lookin more then a little crazed getting the final rep in with a hearty "keeyie". Anyway three wu sets 330×7,6 270 x8, 180x 12, Lunges with 90 20x.  Legs press 2 wu sets, 400×12x3.  Extention 2xwu 180x 15, 200×10,8. Cable Squats "just for the burn". Cable leg kickbacks. I feel like I cannot get enough to eat, woke up "stahvin" and have not been satisfied yet today!

Been Awhile

Work has been deadly with retirement programs and potential layoffs and your truley being camp councillor for many. Thank goodness for the gym. The weeks are getting "routinish" and the routine seems to be working.  I have upped the abs and eased a lil on the arms.

Monday was a make up burn circiut, Tuesday was legs (PB 340 x6×5) and Abs, Weds Chest (PB 230×1, it just wasnt going up the second time), Thursday was Back, Arms ABs and Yesterday was another 45m circuit and I did 4 diff shoulders exercises.  Tmrw will be swimming with junior and the weekly who can hang onto the bottom content. To be 10 years old again…

Vital stats. Weight finally levelled off at 212 after a 24lb weight gain since July. No smoking for almost 7 months, no drinking for almost 19 months. Tmrw  I will be 47, resting hb of 52 bpm, great blood pressure and all my markers are good including test for colon cancer and tt levels. Like I said, thank goodness for gym.

Legs Monday

I had the gym to myself today. Snow Day (I’m likin my Jeep!) So I had an uninterrupted session of legs and went to town.

Squats 140/180/250/300/300. Leg press (wide / narrow position) 300/360/400/400 (8sets). Sumo deeps squats 180 ss w/cable squats 120 x3.  One Legged cable deadlfts ss with plie squat with 75 dbell.  Leg cables, Bike intervals for 20 minutes.  It was great.

My weight has hit 210, but bf has not gone up. Calipers still at "8" (15%) i feel very good. Wieght has increased 22 pounds since Sept.  I had to get new jeans (again) bu 36" are a lil loose (thank god).  I am going to watch my food a lil closer.  I am hungry all the time. March 8 will be 18 months alcohol free and 6 months smoke free.  I managed to hold my breath for over a minute in the pool last sunday.

Why are there so many blogs about … "I just dont have the motivation" … "I don’t know why I can’t do this "… "why do I keep blowing my diet".  Stop writing to others, write yourself a note a read it fer krissakes!  Training can be hard … you have an injury, it’s harder, you have a head cold, it’s hard … you have the flu .. you get my drift.  You can’t get away from the TV for 45 minutes … you have an issue. If you can’t put your ipod on for half and hour and shake your fanny … (some of you might call it cardio, and there’s nthing wrong with that) you have a problem. If you are not planning to get healthy … um exactly what are you planning?

Look at your parents health. Do you eat as well and take care of yourself as well as they do? If that answer is no…well you should start managing your expectations now.  Get your backside moving, put on your shark fin, put the simpliest of routines together and do something for yourself.  You will feel good.  Might not be tmrw, but you will.  Then when you blog and ask for a advice people will find you very worthy of helping. Read a blog like Superstar34 (I think Wholy Krap! Everytime!) thats motivation and someone who just loves the work.  And I love the read. Sorry for the rant…

 

Time Flies

Its been awhile.  Working hard and trying to navigate a horrible economy. However, still in everynite for wieghts and morning for cardio.

I have been getting stronger every week since the xmas break.  it feels very good.  I am setting pb’s every week.  I’m eating clean, i think my head is screwed on right and I’m not letting too much get to me and nothing is under my skin at the moment. I am not afraid of putting more on the bar, closing my eyes and just lifting it.  I am motivated to try as hard as i can.  I almost lost my cookies last nite doing 21’s for biceps.  I wanted to finish so bad! I’m digging the tunes and I’m in the zone.

Sunday was 5 months off the smokes and 17 months off the booze. I feel great. I wanna be big. Thanks to many who make me feel like i’m making progress. Love you!

Improvised Leg Day

Got down to my gym to find a cicuit class … which meant i had a small corner of the gym to work in.  I amde a deal with the gal doin leg press to swap supers which was great.  I grabbed a set of 75’s and a set of 40’s and did Dbell squats and deads, then supered with one legged presses.   It was a big of a clusterF but i did get a good work out in and a great pump.  One legged press seems to really nail the outside of the quad, various foot positions hit various things… at any rate alot of volume today and im wiped..

Oh yeah, 4.5 months smoke free, 16.5 months no drinks. My weight is levelling off after quitting now and the change in BF is noticable.  Will measure when I get a chance.

I did quadzilla today.  I had planned a whole body but my back is still sore from a driveway fall over the holidays.  It’s OK, the driveway broke my fall. Saaamaaaaak! 

Quadzilla is leg press, ascending sets, 250 x 40, 300 x 30, 340 x 30, 400 x 20, 400×12, 300 x20.  Squats, 180 x 10, 240 x10, 280 x 8, 280 x6, 240 x 10.  Quad extension, 100 x 12, 130 x12, 160 x10, 160 x8 Done.  Calf Press to finish off. Yes, I wnated to hoop.  Who would ever think that has a sign of success?  Great sex hon, i thought i was gonna hoop!

I dont have many goals this year yet.  Im still thinking what they should be.  I met mine last year in quitting smoking and exercising at least 4x a week. I will continue that, tmrw is 4 months without cigarettes and 16 months without a drink. I eat relatviely clean, but i think it is time to really examine the diet.

Oh Maddi … please keep bloggin.  You can’t leave me hanging girl!

Chest and Arms

The headcold is slowing me a lil bit, I’m a snotmonstah.

Pyramid set, bench 110×15, 160 x 10, 180 x8, 220×1, 180×4, 160 x8, 110 x 20 (2). That tired me out. Then did standing dbell curls, super with cable pull downs, 5 sets and then 4 sets of concentration 21’s and then I ran outa gas.  I did cardio this morning 20 min on treadmill hillclimb and 15 minutes bike. My wind is not what it could be.  Feeling yesterday leg workout now… im gonna be sore tmrw!

Monday, Legs!

I have a headcold courtesy of a flight from LA to NYC.  Actually decided to take a red eye to ensure I could get a workout in because I was feeling guily.  I stayed at the Hilton in Universal City, which had a crummy lil gym, made up of dbells and one cable apparatus.   Yeeesh crapppy!

That was last week, today, even with a snothead, decided I needed to hit it.  I did quadzilla, (see earlier post, high reps heavy leg press), leg extensions, sumo squats (thanks superstar!) and finally 2 calf moves.  Weights were good for me and got a good session in.

Actually don’t know what week this is of non smoking! I have lost the count.  I am definately over the worst of it and find it hard to beleive it took me this long to quit.  As of december 8 I was 15 months liquor free and 3 months smoke free.  I feel free.

I am a lil concerned about the weight gain.  Most is muscle (i keep telling myself this) but my waist is up about 1.5" from a couple of months ago.  I’m eating clean, just eating alot. I will cut back on cals if i add more to the belt line.  I just want to be finished with the smokes first and address the weight second.

I feel good. Strong, Like bull. Best Rob

Monday, Chest of course!

Well usually chest is tuesday, but i have to fly tmrw to LA. Didn’t want to do heavy legs and spend all day tmrw in a cramped aircraft.

Flat Bench,  140 x12, 160 x10, 180×6, 200 x 3, 215 x2, 180 x5, 140 x10, 90 x20, giant of hammer curls, skullcrushers, wide slow flys.  4 sets around 12-15 reps each, super set standing curls and dips, 4 sets 10 reps to 6 reps decending.  Did morning cardio, 20 minutes hill climb, 10 minutes speedbike and 10 minutes on the womens machine from hell. 

My wieght continues to rise. I have one hell of an appetite of 3 months (today) of no smoking. (Yea for me!) I have put on almost 20 pounds since I tweaked the diet and started the whole body program.  I am eating clean, just eating alot!  I will worry about more when someone actually want/gets to see my belly.  Please inquire at … just kidding…maybe
