Out with the old & in with the new!

All in all 07 was a good year.  Business was good, tried alot of new foods(which is new for me) and managed to drop 15lbs from July to Dec.  I finishing out the year at 195lbs and can’t wait for 2008.  I am working with a trainer who has me on bit of a free weight circut training to drop some weight before starting to lift a little heavier.  It has been tough mentally because the last 5-6 years I had been lifting heavier with a minute or two rests between sets.  My trainer has me doing about half the weight with alot of supersetting and full body workouts.  Its very tough mentally to go backwards in the weight that I had been lifting but I am amazed at how hitting the muscles from different angles has been producing results.  I am just sitting down to make my New Year resolutions and yearly goals and I hope to be in good enough shape 18 months from now to think about competition if I want to(not sure yet).  I can’t wait to have all of the holidays over so that I can get back to better eating and hitting the gym hard again!

Just got back from the inlaws for Christmas.  Put on 5 lbs in 4 days (ouch).  I expected a to gain a few but not 5lbs.  Anyways, can’t wait to get back to the gym and eating well.  2008 is going to be a great year.

Stubborn Belly Fat

I’ve been seriously hitting the gym now for over 3 weeks.  Down almost 10 lbs.  Starting to see good definition in my arms and shoulders but would like to see another 5lbs + disappear from mid section.  I guess I need to get very strict with the diet and hit the core hard.  I wish there was a magic pill for that but I’m sure I’ll think much harder before I stuff crap into me after all the cardio and circut trianing I’ve been doing.

It been almost three weeks and I down 7 lbs.  I’ve been working with a trainer and I am amazed at how much I didn’t know.  Although I’ve been working out for years off and on you get in a rut of doing the same exercises over and over.  Hitting the muscles in a different way has really helped me make progress and high intensity interval cardio training has the fat falling off.  I hope that I can maintain some sort of decent dieting through the holidays!
