Getting my motivation back!

For the past two months I have been on and off with the gym.  I know I should be going and I fell guilty for not but my heart just wasn’t in it.  Decided to take a rest till I felt motivated again and I’m finally there.  I’m a little mad at myself as I was seeing great results in Q1 of this year but went on vacation and self sabatoged.  Eating has been really bad for the past couple of months but I’m back in the saddle, I know I’m better than that.

Day 48 Body For Life

Ran for 30 mins. (3.0 miles)  Still weighting in at 185lbs, have been eating really well this past week.  I need to get really strict with the diet and take cardio up a notch to drop the last 5-10lbs.  Time to start focusing on my abs.  Have a great day everyone!

Day 47 Body For Life

This morning I did an upper body workout and ran for 20 mins.  35 days till trip to Dominican and date set for goals.  Going to focus on lighter weights, more reps, cardio and keeping heart rate high to burn more bodyfat.  Somedays I wonder if I should be working with a trainer but I don’t know of anyone in this area that has experience and proven results. 

Incline Dumb Press (12×40)(10×45)(8×50)(6×55)  Dumb Flyes (12×25)(12×30)

Assited Pull-Ups (12×80)(10×75)(8×75)(6×70)  Barbell Row (12×70)(12×70)

Day 46 Body For Life(Need help wth Nutrition)

Just getting ready to head to the gym to do cardio session.  Very inspired this morning as I played 2 hours of pick up basketball last night after my leg workout yesterday and I’m weighting in at 185lbs this morning.  Now down 11lbs from 196 and the original goal of 185lbs is with in reach.  Starting to think that I need to drop more weight than I originally thought.  I want to get under 15% BF but at current 185lbs I still have alot more fat around mid-section than I would like.  I,m going to be extremely strict and consistent  until Mar 21st and see where I end up.  As the mid-section area is my troubled spot I guessing that diet is my biggest challenge.  I am very unknowlegage in this area.  Imean I try to eat lean protein(chicken) with slow burning carbs such as brown rice and veggies but thats about where my knowledge ends.  If any one has any advice on the nutrition side, any help would be greatly appreciated.  Make it a great day everyone!

Day 45 Body For Life

Leg day, decided to lighten up on the weight and throw in a few more sets as my legs are the weakest link and scrawny.  Eating well the last few days, I right back on track after my trip to Vegas.

Day 43 & 44 Body for Life

February 10, 2009

I am updating for today and yesterday.  Missed a few workouts last week while in Vegas so I am picking up from yesterday.  Day 43 was upper body workout.

Decline Dumbell Press (12×40)(10×45)(8×50)(6×55)  Incline Dumbell Press (12×40)(12×45)

Seated Lateral Raises (12×15)(10×15)(8×15)(6×15)  Upright Row (12×50)(12×50)

Assisted Pull Ups (12×85)(10×80)(8×75)(6×70)  Narrow Cable Row (12×95)(12×100)

Assited Dipps (12×70)(10×65) Cable Pushdowns (12×27.5)(12×32.5)(12×27.5)

Barbell Curl (12×40)(10×50) Drop Set Curls (12×30)(12×20)(12×25)(12×20)

Day 44 was a 20 min. interval run.  39 days till goal of 180lbs and < 15% body fat.  Make it a great day all!

Day 37 Body For Life

February 3, 2009

Ran for 30 mins. for my cardio today, approx. 3 miles.  Leaving for Vegas in the morning so hopefully I am able to not blow the diet to bad.  Of course thats if our plane can get out as we are getting about 7-8 inches of snow tonight and high winds.  Taking the gym clothes with me to work out at the hotel.

Day 36 Body For Life

Wooohooo Leg Day!  By far my weakest link.  Just fininshed workout, thought I would swith it up this morning.  I find that when you read fitness mags. you get alot of contradictory info.  I’ve always understood that if you want to build your legs you have to do heavy squats but recently everything I read says that squats build a think mid-section and should be avoided????? Anyways

Machine Leg Press (12×200)(12×210)(10×230)(6×250)  Leg Ext. (12×90)(12×90)

Straight Leg DL (12×50)(10×60)(8×70)(6×70)  Lunges (12×0)(12×30)  Leg Curls (12×50)(12×55)

Also threw in some Sumo Squats to bulid out my scrawny sticks and calf raises.  Have a great day all!

Day 35 Body For Life

February 2, 2009

This was actually completed yesterday, just wanted to update.  Did 20 mins. of cardio on eliptical and 10 mins. on stationary bike.  Also did abs pilates with my wife in the evening, man that kills every time.  Ate really well yesterday.
