new program

Holy cow - at the end of third week in 4 week first phase of 4 month program.  say that 4 times fast…..

the gains are incredible which makes me think that if i keep going there are really great things happening by Christmas.

Picture this right. I’m standing there ready to attack my chin ups and the biggest guy in the gym by far (Pete) comes over and says to me, "Mate, i had to look twice to make sure it was you. I don’t know what you’re doing but you’ve just popped out over the past two weeks. There’s a really huge difference being made there" He then went on to ask me what it was that I was doing and so, there i am, going through my workout routine and explaining to the massivest (not a word i imagine) guy around. ANd he’s interested. I don’t think he knows what a change he made in that 3 minutes to my mental fortitude.

It also reaffirms my belief that a good word to someone often means more than anything you could physically give them.

More progress pics are in order? we’ll see.

new era

Lovin it.  I started a new 4 month program last Monday and it’s out of this world!  My legs are pumped more now than they have been ever in the past year (so much so it even prompted me to post a pic so i can compare at Christmas).

This plus the spin class is killing me but giving me more definition than i when I was 20! Another interesting thing happened last week where I posted some pics of upper body shirtless and i got a comment from Alex that i was getting shoulder definition and I’ll be good and god dammed if i’m not!  It’ll sound way too goofy if I say I didn’t even think to look but there you go. Standing military press plus chin ups are obviously doing their jobs! Speaking of, I was standing looking in the mirror to approach the squat rack this morning and again, maybe my imagination but it looked like I’m getting all V’ed up! Like someone who i only thought i might be able to become one day, if i gave it a bit more effort than just half-@ss

Big shouts to everyone who has pushed me and encouraged me and complimented me and given me tips.

Bigger better faster stronger!

this week and the affect my brain has on it

Why do I do this?! I’m desperate to find a 3 or 4 month program and I suppose it may end uyp being nothing more than what I started with. But to give myself a chance to sort it out I’ve decided this is a 100% cardio week. This means nothing but me and my brain trying to work sh|t out for an hour + at a time. And I love being there trust me. But there’s always this voice trying to get me to stop. Goddam him but he makes sense too many times. "C’mon, what’s it matter if you stop 10 minutes early. That shower will be hot and you’ll forget you even had plans to do an hour +. Who does an hour of cardio?? That’s crazy… just forget about it"

And I have to beat it if I want to get to my goal physique. How do athletes cope with that voice? How does anyone other than me cope with that voice?
