holy crap - my new plan consisted of focusing on one part per day instead of the usual two so i can go slow on that part and really squeeze all the juice out of it instead of having to rush through two (ie back and chest in the one hour)

Why didn’t anyone tell me that my delts are weak as a wet paper bag before i started today!?  Definitely have to work on that but bigger picture, I’m on two weeks leave starting Friday and I am sh|t scared that I’ll end up coming back having done nothing at all! Maybe I’ll use the bags of mulch for shoulder presses and do massive dips using the two tall garbage cans outside! Give me something to work with here people…..

It’s saturday and one of only two days off but since i’ve got 4 days until my next progress check my will is like steel. I’ve had 2.5 quarts or water today and may get one more in before bed.

spin (again)

Yes yes y’all.  I’m loving the cardio.  Tore it up this morning so much so that my thighs are giving me grief for the first time ever after a spin.

I sit down and lollygag for a bit then start thinking. I pick a spot on the persons back in front of me. I feel my teeth with my tongue, feel my hair on my arms, feel my feet attached to the pedals, breath in and say to myself "my legs are steel springs. i AM power". The lights are off and we’re away.

That is a special, special place to find yourself in. I’d even say privileged. How many people in a city of 4 million are feeling this powerful, living exactly in THIS moment like I was right then? Not many probably.

BRING IT!

tomorrow

you know the problem with going in the mornings? If i feel horrible for God only knows the reasons like i did today it usually passes in about 3 hours - which is exactly 1 hour after I have to be at work. So, yes, i feel guilty for half-assing it this morning but tomorrow is spin then abs.

I’ve done no back and little shoulders this week so I’ll come out punching on Monday with my first attempt at a 70kg bench then rock out to the tune of a massive arms set on Tuesday.

C’MON!

headache

Holy crap the headache I woke up with this morning was incredible.  But I committed to hitting my shoulders long before the headache so committment takes front seat!

OK so I only did 40 shoulder presses and 25 lat raises then 15 minutes on elliptical and 40 back raises - I still went dammit - and that’s the true Olympic spirit, right?

I heard through a friend of my spin class mate JM that I am her rock during that class. Amazing - she’s mine! You just never know who you’re influencing at any given moment do you…..

8.5 hours since i wobbled off the bike and i’m itching to do more.  I’m itching to do more presses and curls and rows. I’ve reduced 2 inches and 19 kgs off my fat as@ and the momentum is on! I feel more confident than I have in a long time and I’m only 8 months into my plan. Two words -Bring it!

Man, today was my second 45 min spin class in a week and I plan on doing Friday’s as well.  It’s a major effort as I have to be out by 0430 then do some things then be there by 0600.  And of course by about the 12th minute i was going in too hard and was hurting. By the end it did hurt, it hurt, it hurt, it hurt.

About 2/3 into it the sun started to come up so that was a pretty motivating experience.

Cheryl the South African instructor has taught me so much and has a great attitude but pushes me to the point of nauseausness.

But that’s the point I guess and I wouldn’t go if I didn’t end up feeling like i’d just been hit by a truck.

No weights but abs work after. 86.0kgs by the warehouse scale.

Got a check up for BMI, b/f etc next Tuesday so I’m pretty amped about that - looking like I’ll be off the richta!
