Climb those mountains

July 2, 2009

Training for a competion can take months of intence focus and unyeilding committment.  The light at the end of the tunnel can be hard to see.  Victory may not even be possible.  It is the journey which makes it worth it. Look up and never give up.

Isaiah 52: v. 7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publish peace; that bring good tidings of good"

My goal is to train hard, and find anew friend, "Everyday"

All the best to you, Jeff the Harbormaster"

A time to rest

July 1, 2009

It has been a productive day. my work was good.  Even in the rain.  I went to the gym this evening for a power filled workout.  I have started a new program. mixing it up a bit not wanting to get in a rut.

Now it is time for rest and found a nice verse to help us off, enjoy and contemplate this, Pro. 3:v. 24 " When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet."

Good night, sleep well. God Bless

I am convinced

July 1, 2009

I am convinced God is is into physical fitness.  So often scriptual refrences bring us to the mind of keeping in shape and doing what is good for our bodies.  As this passage, Acts 27: v. 34 "For this is for your health".  For all things you do today remember, this is for your health.  Enjoy and be strong.

He shall Strengthen

End of a good Day

June 29, 2009

Night has consumed the day. I got some work done inbetween the rain drops. However the day went, feel I could have done more.  I have been thinking of my friends in Texas. I miss riding around with the top down and the wide open sky.  The troops at Ft. Hood and more.  The FAITH we shared and the times spent together will always be part of my life. God Bless Texas. Jeff

Training, the balancing act.

June 29, 2009

Job: 31 v. 6 - "Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know my integrity."  The balance between physical strength and beauty, and the ever quest for spiritual enlightenment are always under attack from this world who sees beauty and strength as vanity.  This environment of self, keeps some from finding the real self. The goodness of training your body, heart and soul for the trials of this life and the Victory of the afterlife are essential and both are very real and require constant attention.  Training the body and the soul needs to be, and have mutual attention.  If you can find time to reach out to someone in need, you have exersized the gift of giving.  The integrity you seek is seen in the eyes of others.

striving to endure

June 23, 2009

Training in the rain can be a challenge,  When all we have had up here in Maine for the last two weeks is rain and poor weather it is easy to say, " I can’t go running today".  However there are things to see during the rain a sunny day does not give, splashing as you step, seeing your reflection in a puddle, sweat or rain drops.  Look up and forward and remember these words from Rom: 5 v. 20 " Give thanks always for all things."  Enjoy your day whatever it may bring, endure hardships and do not faulter.  Train in the rain.

Spritual strength and physical triumph

June 22, 2009

Those things we ask of our bodies during intense workouts and those things we ask for while going about our daily living, peace, strength and honor, these are the things which make a person whole, and good.  Luke 11 v. 10 "For everyone that asketh recieveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened unto him."

Be strong in all things granted unto you to do, build your body as a tesiment to the gift.

Yours truely, Jeff the Harbormaster
