Grinding

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

This week has been a total grind.  I am doing high rep sets and its just wearing me down.  Or maybe it’s the amount of cardio I am doing….longest hours of my life.  Anway, I think the biggest issue this week was my lower back getting tight after squatting and that snow balled everything into being a pain.  I also need to get back on track with the diet and stay away from pop.   Thats my worst vice.

Cutting Phase

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Okay so for the longest time I have been bulking…and now I’m trying to change up my routine.  So I’m still going to lift six days(same number of sets but high reps), but I’m doing 4-6 six days of cardio but at a much lower heart rate than before and for a longer period of time.  I have also totally rearranged my diet.  So far its kicking my ass, but I’m noticing changes already.  I will post the before and after pics soon….okay I said it….so I’ll have to do it now!

Welcome!

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Well I’m finally getting up to speed with blogging.  I doubt many people will read this, but I have always been the type that likes to write and reflect.  Today was a bear in the gym.  I have been doing high volume lifting sessions for about a year and half now and on days like this….I wonder why.  Not to mention it was a shoulder day and my surgerically repaired shoulder just loves the torture I put it through.  I have noticed improvement in my shoulder strength, but it still likes to bitch at me the rest of the day and into the next.  Anyway, I have tried a lot of different things to break myself of doing high volume lifts, but when push comes to shove…I stay with the tried and true.  The thing that has to change is my diet and I think now I finally have that set in the right direction…not to say that sometimes it takes a detour to fast food hell, but for the most part I have made the switch to eating clean…er.  I would love to put up some new pics because I see a difference, but until I do something about the camera that fell into a toliet at the Arnold Classic, I will have to wait.  (Don’t ask its a long story).  Tomorrow is an arm day and I’m interested to see how my body feels in the morning….I have been getting extra sleep this week due to my class having the week off, but I feel like I’m treading water this week.  Hopefully tomorrow brings a good lift.
