How many calories?
I had been eating between 1700-2200 calories depending on workouts and hunger level but found that that is only maintaining my weight. I haven’t noticed any major fat loss even though it’s tough to tell on yourself. I know I have to cut my calories down but I’m not sure to what. The people on The Biggest Loser eat 1200 cals and that seems like too few for when working out. Can anyone help? I want to give my body enough fuel that it burns fat readily. I’m 5′5′’ and currently weigh 132lbs.

This is roughly ballpark, but for most females take your weight x11 and that should be roughly your calories to lean out. x12 for maintenance, and x13 if you’re building or training very intensely. Actually, most of the contestants on biggest loser who are women are getting a minimum of 1600, but they’re also training 6-8 hours a day. It would help to see what your diet looks like also on a typical day.

I’m 5′5 also, 149lbs and for me the range I have noticed that works is 16-1800 cals…I am losing weight and building muscle…
