The race is off?

Well at this point I don’t think I will be able to do the 5k on Saturday. I was so determined to do this. It’s hard to let go of it. But yesterday I ran outside with my trainer. It was hard but I finished and thought I was okay as I walked to my car. When I got home only about 10 minutes later, it was all I could do to get out of the car and into the house. Later that night I was on the recliner with ice on my leg and had taken something to keep the inflamation down in the leg. But everytime I tried to get up and walk - it was very difficult and very painful. So, this morning it feels better, but it still hurts to walk and it hurts in a different way than before. It feels like I better stop pushing it or I’m gonna be at the doctors getting it taken care of. The is very disappointing. I really felt I could pull this off and if I was careful could hang in there long enough to do the race and then rest it. But it’s not looking good. And of course my health comes first so I am resting it today and am pretty sure the way it feels I will be skipping cardio tomorrow too. Then I will take it a day at a time and see how it feels.

I want to thank everyone who wished me well for the race and gave me their encouragement. This is extra hard because I had friends supporting me and I feel like I let everyone down. Believe me if there is any way I can still pull off this race, I will. Anyway, thanks again for all the encouragement and enthusiasm!

Hey, don’t sweat it! Injuries happen and before you know it, another race will come along! Just get better and stay off the chocolate cure!! LOL!

Sorry to hear that the race is off! I hope your leg gets better, let me know when you find another race!! There is one in August at Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown, but I think it might be a 10k. Good Luck to you!
