Do you know what happens?

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Do you know what happens to you when you lose weight?  People start noticing.  People start telling you how good you look and that they are rooting for you, etc.  It all becomes positive.  Even the haters cant tell you anything negative.  But you know who does?  You do. You start to believe the hype.  You start eating out, missing workouts, cutting cardio altogether.  You top looking at the scale, stop keeping track of your food, start pigging out and drinking at the parties that you were so good at saying no to before.  And all that positive feedback doesnt turn into negative feedback.  No, its worse.  Your friends dont even acknowledge it anymore.  They dont tell you that you look good or bad, jut silence about the subject.  I hate that.  I hate it because its my fault. Its myfault that i stopped working out, that i stopped eating right, that i let myself balloon up to 375 pounds, the heaiest I have ever been.  You know that most people who see me guess that i am only about 280?  No just people being nice but when I tell people my weight, their jaws drop they see the big arms, the wide shoulders and nice legs and i guess they forget about the giganticly gross bag of fat that hangs from my lower chest over my belt.

I wont be blogging as much as i did before wheni was working out and watching my diet. but my pictures will be updated. I am tired of this life.  I want to take my shirt off at the beach again.

one step at a time

Whoa, dont take time off

Wow, i havent stepped in a gym in three months. it seems like only a week off, but man you take one week off making excuses about moving, getting used to a new city, new state even, etc. and you forget about what you told yourself was important. you start eating out becuse everything is new to you, even though you hit up the same old frnachises, mickey d’s, wendy’s etc. and now you have new franchises that arent in lo angeles, stuff like whataburger and krystals.  then you look at the scale because you dont like what you see in the mirror and you are … once again…. back in the same effing place you started! 330 pounds of lard and not working out, hell you havent even joined a gym out here yet! what the hell?!?!?!

Well, i went shopping this weekend. everything begins and ends with diet right? i have started running in the mornings… and am going to be joining golds in arlington when pay day hits next week. its all about that mental discipline to stay focused and i let mine take a nap.

Dallas Forth Worth

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Ok so i have officially relocated. nothing spectacular. i just got the hell out of dodge (los angeles) for a more economically friendly atmosphere. You know, the kind of place you can actually set aside money to save for a houe and in a few years still afford it?

Well fort worth texas here i am, bright shiny and got a few good years left. LOL Anyone in the fort worth area who knows of any good outside the gym cardio activities, like good trails for funning, etc. or anything alolng those lines, please, feel free to forward them to me

Stairway to heaven

So, I have done it! I switched Cardio and weights so now I do my cardio in the morning and am lifting at night.  i am also getting my diet back in check.  We all know that diet is 90% of the battle, right?

I am running stairs in the morning.  I have access to a five flight set of stairs and am running them in the morning.  I run from the first to the fifth, then walk to the fourth and run to the fifth, walk to the third, run to the fifth, etc until i have walked to the first and run to the fifth.  I then rest for aminute and do it again.  So far I have worked up to doing this 6 times in a row without having to walk on my running phase.

has this ever happened to you?

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

Ok so i get up, hit the gym and am home by 6:30.  I make my protein shakes for the day and sit down on my couch to untie my shoes before hopping in the shower to go to work and the next thing i know i am waking up at ten minutes to 9 and i have to be at work at nine?

I dont know what the heck happened but i was knocked out!

Ok its official, someone actually has moved past the dating stage and has a girlfriend again.  And right in time for the holidays.  The really cool part is that she is a die hard fitness person also and we keep each other on our toes about our exercise and diet.

Well, I have switched up my training now and do my cardio in the morning to try and believe it or not, prevent injury.  I kow that you burn more calories by doing cardio in the morning, but i hate missing a workout by lifting at nght.  I made the switch anyway though because lifting on a cold morning takes forever to get warm and i really dont want to hurt myself.  So, another sacrifice must be made.

Ok well until next time,

I love how nice everyone is here.  I have had a few idiots tell me that no one wants to see the fat guy with his shirt off, just like there are some pervs out there who leave comments for some of the scantily clad women etc.  But in general, the environment here is a lot like people in the gym.  Everyone is working towards something, more muscle, less fat, etc.  and there in lies the brotherhood, the camraderie, etc.

I love how people who are active on the site post their own progress and look at mine etc.  I love that people are honest, they dont feel the need to pull punches etc.  Its that harsh criticism and also positive reinforcement that our face to face friends and family dont have the guts to tell us.

Wednesday 12/5

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Well last night had a killer shoulder workout, tonight is legs.  Squats, stiff legged deads, etc, here i come.

The woman i am seeing checked out this site the other night and was giving me a hard time because of all fo the women on here in bikinis and stuff.  It was payback for me giving her a hard time for having so many male friends.  My own medicine doesnt taste that great. lol

I am making possibly the simplest chicken tonight.  Simple as in easy clean up and still low cal high protein etc.  Just taking the slow cooker, dropping in about 5 pounds of chicken, 1/4 cup of oj, 6 cloves of garlic, and some balsamic and thyme.  Should be good.

Work has been crazy.  I really need to get a job where i dont work on the weekends.  Its killing my social life and believe me, everyone needs a social life. it helps keep you grounded.

Well, not much to write here today, will write more later i think

blogger land

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

Hi all out there in blogger land.  Man, you miss a wokrout here or there, you eat a fatty food here or there, and next thing you know, you are back to your old habits right?  Add to that the fact that the body can become addicted to the fatty, HFCS foods and its really hard to break that habit.

Just a thought as i watch my friends fall around me from not being able to stick to their diets.  A woman i helped lost 30 pounds in just over 3 months! she was ecstatic. She was healthy, lean, starting to feel more sexy, etc.  Then she stopped calling me for advice and stopped asking me for new recipes.  That was back in may.  Well guess who emailed me saying she had gained another 45 pounds?

Anyway, gotta get back to work, tonight is an off night for me as far as working out but will try to get at least 30 minmutes of cardio in if i can

Sunday

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Ok so how do i get out of this one.  I told this girl i am seeing that today when i go over to her place to help her with her Christmas tree that I would bring pizza.  The thing is, we are both trying to lose weight so I need to figure something else out like maybe a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket instead.  No biggie. See? theres always choices!

My back is so sore from yesterdays workouts.  I did 10 sets of barbell rows, nothing more, alternating the grip over/under every alternating set.  for triceps i did 8 total sets of skullcrushers and overhead extensions.  my arms always fill ouy without a lot of volume, and trust me, they are sore also.

Everyone keeps calling me asking if i am making my batches of holiday cookies this year.  I have to continually regretfully decline.  Can you imagine the lack of willpower i would have making dozen after dozen after dozen of all that sweet holiday goodness?

I love re reading articles form some of my fav bodybuilding magazines.  I read an article by Ron Harris recently that said that heroin on the street is called "junk" and to think of junk food as just that, a street drug.  Something you would never allow to enter into your body.  You know, ths type oif visualization is very helpful when trying to diet down.
