I purchased some new workout equipment a week ago and so far I love the response from my body. I bought knee wraps and a weight lifting belt for my back. My current workout program is progressing very well. I’m doing a lot of static and compound lifts. Especially exercises where my arms are extended with weights over my head with large amounts of weight. I’m using my core to stabilize my body, and I pull my abs in tight with every contraction. Also, I’m implementing a lot more rubber bands and kettle balls into my training routine. I alter my cardio regimen every other week. There is 1 week of regular cardio, alternated with 1 week of H.I.T.T. cardio: Things are progressing along pretty well. Have faith!

My 2 week weight loss program is over. I didn’t accomplish the 10lb weight loss goal, however, I did learn a lot about my body in the short period of time. My body has been adapting to my workouts pretty quickly. With that being said, it’s time to change things up a bit. Today, I’m starting a 12 week program and attempt to lose 20+ pounds. Lately I’ve been researching training methods from various backgrounds such as MMA, wrestling, power lifting, and strongman competitions. I plan to reorganize my rep scheme so that I’m only completing about 5-8 reps a set. The poundage’s are going to be insane.
Some of my new exercises are as follows:
Farmers walk – With dumbbells in each hand, dumbbells on my shoulders, or a barbell on my back.
Power clean and jerk
Deadlifts
Squats
Planks
Medicine ball throws
Kettle balls
Step ups.
Lumberjacks – A lumberjack is the name of my new exercise. It’s like executing a power bomb, except with a single dumbbell between my thighs.
I can’t wait until my Lipo 6 and Hydroxycut arrive from BB.com so that I can start kicking more butt in the gym.
Never give up!!!!!!!!!

Sat: I performed a back/chest workout that left my back in a lot of positive pain! I also did cardio.
Sun: I was really sore from all of the dead lifting the night prior so I decided to play it safe and take the day off to recover. I drank a lot of protein and water to help my muscles rebuild themselves.
Mon: I hit the gym around 5am and performed a chest workout for about 30 minutes. It was a great morning pump. Afterwards I perfromed 90 minutes of HITT cardio on the treadmill. My back is still sore from Saturday’s workout, so I decided to take it easy on the cardio. I burned about 1000 calories during my session. I may end up hitting the gym again tonight after work depending on how my body feels.
My weight loss goals are coming along great. I’ve already lost about 4llbs. I’m halfway there! I have faith that the next 7 days is really going to test my body & mind.
Stay tuned!

On Thursday I had 2 incredible workouts. In the morning I performed 75 minutes of cardio. Later that day I performed 80 minutes of cardio after I completed my lifting session. I love HITT training on the treadmill and I adjust the incline/speed of the machine at random intervals. On Friday I burned over 1600 calories alone from cardio.
Friday, however, was a little different. I had to work all day and my friend had a going away party scheduled for later that night. I completed a 30 minute lifting session then went to his party at a local bar. I managed to drink water that whole night, and my post training meal was a huge slice of cake the size of both of my hands put together. Sugar is an excellent carbn right after a weight lifting session.
Saturday: I slept for 8 hours the night prior and woke up feeling energized and ready to hit the gym. I had a banana and some water to get me started. I also popped some caffeine pills and fish oil. I hit the weights pretty hard working my lats and back for 1 hour. Next, I performed 2.5 hours of cardio at a very slow pace of 2-3.5 MPH, burning over 1400 calories. I had 3 small “100 calorie” packs worth of snacks while I was on the treadmill. I love the treadmill because I can adjust the incline and read books or magazines. I don’t know my current weight but I’m starting to notice a small decrease in my waist size. I’m also in the process of recording myself while I’m in the kitchen. Stay tuned for the UTube videos.

I couldn’t make it to the gym today so I decided to plow the snow outside of my house. I live in the North Pole, AK and the snow here is seriously deep. While plowing snow I can feel my lats, arms, and back working all in sync. Snow plowing is more of a rowing exercise, and the lats are the target muscle. Multiple muscle groups can be worked by throwing the snow in different directions. If I shift to the left, I can work my obliques. If I throw the snow overhead I can work my legs and lower back. I highly recommend it as a supplement to the gym.

School has been kicking my butt and now it’s time to take a break off from studying and keep back into shape. I plan to reach my fat/weight loss goals by hitting the weights & cardio at least 3x a week. My metabolism is very fast and I can add/drop weight very easily. I have a lot of muscle underneath all of this fat, and it’s time to tighten things up a notch. Also, my run times are a lot slower and could use some improvement. I will not lose. Train with the heart and mind of a champion.

Today I performed my second weight session. I was really bored with my all cardio routine. For the next few weeks I’m going to rotate weights with cardio. Today’s session consisted of chest and lats. I can already feel my lats getting stronger and harder. The lat muscle is so large. I can feel the soreness from my armpits all the way down to my pelvis. When working my chest I always feel my right arm taking the majority of the load. Currently, I’m taking a break from flat bench press and instead using the Smith machine. I can go really heavy on the Smith which helps raise my regular bench press. On another note, my waist size has dropped an inch and my weight has shot up one pound. Perhaps it’s the creatine?

Today I ran outside around a golf course with my buddy Scoot and I am sore as heck. After the golf course we ran around our town. I wish I could take a long ice bath right about now.

I’ve been eating like a mad man since I returned home from Iraq. For the next few weeks I’m going to cut out my weight lifting and focus on cardio. With family, work, and school I don’t have time to spend 2.5 hours in the gym. With that being said, I plan to loose at least 2 inches off my waist in 6 weeks or less. Stay tuned!
