I decided to add in functional training today….I went to a nice grassy area and took a jump rope and resistance band with me… I just came up with it when I got there…I wasn’t in the mood to run the stairs and this was a great change of pace for me…. so I warmed up with a 5 minute jog and then I jumped roped for 5 minutes followed by 1 minute of jump squats, 1 minute sit ups, 1 minute pushups, 1 minute lunges, 1 minute jump squats on to a bench…. after this sequence I went back to the jumprope for 5 minutes… I repeated this sequence for about 40 minutes … with a couple rests in between because I was really OUT OF BREATH !!! Then, I came home and had a protein shake….and poped in a windsor pilates tape ( yes ~ tape it’s freakin old )and worked on my core….it’s a good day so far ! xoxo Gina

This week was a little challenging for me trying to keep up with my aggressive workout goals, work, home, and everything else…. but I kept doing the best I could. I missed a cardio session this week….but that’s ok … I’m not going to beat myself up about it…. I’m really getting into Yoga … I love that it’s challenging for me and it really brings me into the present moment…. I can actually quiet my mind and just be with my body…. sounds weird but it feels good … and my posture is really looking good….
This next week my goal will be to eat only fish as my protein source and all of my veggies raw … my intentions are to give my body as much nutrients as possible … when incorporate more raw veggies my skin really glows … and my goal is always to look as good as my body does with my hair, skin, and nails… xoxo Gina

Well my first week of serious training went great ! Legs are soar soar soar !!! My goal these next 3 months will be to include as much yoga and pilates as posible .. I want to make my waist as tiny as possible and stretching is the key …. along with no oblique exercises for me … the rest of my day will be making menus … grocery shopping .. cooking and mapping out my week workouts… and a little spa time at home … " gotta keep it sexy !" oxox Gina

Ok … so most people are getting ready to have some fun this weekend … and I am going to be "business as usual" with my diet and training… no drinking or eating anything that is not part of my clean and mean macros …. I may add some outside cardio this weekend … by the beach ….really early in the morning … to beat the heat … and I love running sprints up stairs … I love the BURN !!! Also, I’m adding some yoga tonight …. flexiblity is part of looking young …. it’s one of those things you can’t really pinpoint in someone but it really makes a difference in how you carry yourself… ex. babies REALLY flexible … senior citizens REALLY stiff … I know what your thinking … it’s challenging enough to get cardio and weights in but I PROMISE it’s just the "icing on the cake" to your figure … men and women .. xoxo Gina

OK my fellow iron family …. I have been on hiatus this whole year… life just go to me a little this year…. but I don’t know what it is about the fall … ( maybe cause summer is over … he he ) … I"m ready to do this again…. train…eat….sleep…. and a lot of fun spa trips … for the next couple of months … I’m so freaking excited !! I really love when I am focused and on fire with my healthy lifestyle … Wishing everybody an AMAZING Labor Day weekend … mine will be filled with cardio and pilates … and I wouldn’t have it any other way !! xoxox Gina

Today my friend Cynthia and I busted BALLS doing an AMAZING plyo workout…we used a med ball for 1/3 of the workout…jumping squats, jump lunges, and many more plyo moves…we where "sweating like hostages" by the end of the workout…let me just say that everyone on the cardio machines looked like they where wasting their time…what I mean is that you realize how much more effort and energy it takes to push out a good plyo workout instead of getting on a cardio machine and just going throught the moves ….. aaahhh..I feel amazing right now…I will go back tonight for a circuit weight training session…I was soo wiped out with the plyo workout I couldn’t even think about weight lifting… and my oatmeal was well deserved today!!! I am soo happy today …. I feel like I am going to burst !! No reason other than I am soo grateful to wake up another day…in this great country we live in …. I healthy, alive, and happy !! Life is DELISHISH>>>> Lets all live in the moment today ; )

I met my sweet girlfriend Cynthia at the gym today…and we got on the treadmill and did some sprint work…we warmed up for a couple of minutes ( fast walk ) Then we began to really work up a sweat….I really really love to run…your body just feels so strong when you are running at full speed….I try not to run too much because my trainer says I’ll get a flat backside if I run…so that’s not very sexy…..anyways…it was a sprint workout so I’m not too worried….you know what really really made the sprint workout intense ??? getting off the treadmill every so often and doing some jump squats, jump lunges, pushups, & sit ups…then back on the treadmill for another sprint…ok so everyone thinks I’ve gone crazy at the gym but man… that really takes the cardio workout to another level….I’m going later tonight back to the gym for a circuit training session…according to my trainer…there is no such thing as a weekend for a competitor…so it’s business as usual for me …that’s ok I am grateful for my life and the opportunity to indulge myself in such a fun hobby ! LIFE IS DELISHISH EVERYONE….go out there and have some fun… let’s all just lighten up about our lives and just relax today and be in the moment….HAPPY HALLOWEEN >>>WOOHOO>>>

I took the cardio outside today….back to the stairs…it was another great morning…man I was feeling really good this morning…my energy was back….yesterday was my high carb day (50 grams) ….. woohoo…you would think I was getting a piece of cake on high carb day I’m soo giddy !! Anyways….back to my run…the morning air was sooo refreshing…it felt sooo amazing to fill my lungs with the nice brisk moist air…I felt like a machine…I was going non stop on my run…it’s the best feeling when you are at your peak shape and your body is just strong …. well….it’s only 3 more weeks before my competition !!! And then … I get to EAT …. ok just a little : )

Ok…last blog for the day ( I really like this blogging stuff it’s a bit therapeutic… ; ) Anyways…I went to Trader Joes and found Pumpkin Spice…in a powder form…….and I usually make pancakes using egg whites, Splenda, oats & cinnamon…but this time I also added some of the pumpkin spice….WOOHOOO !! I was in heaven… it was almost like pumpkin bread…now I don’t have to feel like I’m missing out on Halloween…it makes your house smell sooooo gooood too…very cozy … use some sugar free syrup and DELISH…… : ) and those not close to a show, I would add some raisons too… anyways have fun with this one !

Ok…so I was a little tired today…I woke up at 4:30 am to go to the gym and only did 30 minutes of cardio and a very half ass job of a short circuit with weights….hummmm…I guess it has to be normal since I’m like on 1000 calories a day…I’m officially getting a little burnt out with my workouts,diet, cardio….man this competing is not for the weak…anyways I’m just pulling my shoulders back and I’m not beating myself up about my workout this morning…I will just give it a second round this evening after work…. I CAN DO THIS !! WOOHOOO " LIFE IS GOOD AND GETTING BETTER EVERYDAY !"
