I choose this Day

I choose this day to try harder than ever before.  I choose this day to lift more than ever before.  I choose this day to help others do the best they can do.  That is a core principle in the growth of bodybuilding.  Do your best otherwise it is a waste of time.  Like feeling mentally bad, worried, etc.  What good does that ever do to help the situation?  We are not victims of our surroundings but creators of a lifestyle.  Why wait for a good day or for good things to happen?  Plan for them, work for them and help others do the same.  Weight lifting may have a large ego component to it but for me I like the admiration I get from others.  Women especially help this old man feel that I am desireable as a specimen.  I don’t flirt with women as I never felt that was right but when I receive a compliment on my hard work I beam like a school child being the last one standing during a spelling bee.  It means to me I am still acceptable genetic material.  I guess it is one way to prepare myself for the mid-life crisis many of us will go through.  So today is shoulders and back at the gym.  Not one of my favorites but it keeps everything in balance.

Nice but bad…

After 2 weeks out with an upper respiratory infection and asthma I am back at the weights.  Interestingly I still progressed up on my weights.  The same old pains are there but the rest seemed to do a world of good.  They say a good infection clears out the junk and exercises the immune system.  Well mine ought to be kickin’ now as hard as the virus kicked me.  Tried out a new gym and it was good too.  More serious lifters with less testosterone pointed at others and concentrated on form and function.  Less eye candy though.  Will continue to update issues as they come along.

Pooch Belly

Genetics have given me a problem.  I either have to starve myself with fruits, veggies and protein shakes only or have an open reduction of this fat pack that sits on my six pack.  Training made the muscles under it strong but the fat above it is recalcitrant.  I am lucky if I can pinch 1/4" on my hips which rate about a 9% bodyfat but if I add my scapular and tricep measurements it pops up to about 15%.  The triceps have almost nothing to pinch with the calipers the back has more.  Weird proportions.  So I have cut way back only anything sweet, little to nothing refined and added 30 minutes of cardio 4 times a week.  Hopefully that will push me through the envelope.  The Ham tear from 3 weeks ago ios healing fine as long as I rehab slowly and do not push it.  The elbow is a constant drone of pain but low level and the RICE treatments keep it at bay.  I just have to quit squeezing the bars so hard like it will actually help me get the weight any higher.  Oh well, the trials and tribulations of weight lifting….

Higher Power Creatine ethyl Ester

Well the guys here asked me to write up what I like about this product as sort of a review so here it is…First and worst is the taste absolutely bitter as all get out.  Worst thing I ever tasted.  That is the only dis I have!  The stuff works great. I tried NO Explode and others and if there is a difference it is miniscule except in your wallet. Where else can you get this stuff at a better and faster rate? The pump amd size difference is amazing.  I especially feel it and then I measure and see the difference.  I like it before and after lifting.  From sheer physics and mechanics by opening up the cell to more fluid transport around and through the cell wall membrane is enhanced.  I have overcome the taste by putting it into gel caps.  1/2 tsp per dose is about 2 large capsules.  I do feel like a drug dealer putting my "creacrack" into the caps though! Happy lifting y’all.

Well, Well

Life is good.  Lifting is just the same.  No problems, no issues just continued gains.   The hamstring has repaired itself well and now just another week before the rehab starts.  Although I am currently sporting the latest fashion statement, that being a compression strap for my forarm.  Not so cool but it sure does feel better.  The ice after lifting feels pretty good too.  Today was a great day at the gym…it was deserted.  Now I do not mind looking at people in the gym but pretty women are a distraction and other lifters ruin my rythm. Oh well it was fun just the same.  But, back to work Monday.  I need a holiday.
