Lost Pump

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Well I have grown older and wiser.  After my 2 week moving stint I started back to the weights.  What shocked me was the loss of the the pump.  What shocked me even more was that there was not strength loss during that time and no soreness.  I wonder if I just needed extended recovery time for the old body.  The beach was a success as there were accolades all around for the new body and no stupid remarks.  I am so proud.  I did manage to workout 2 times on vacation which was a plus.  Next week I go back to the regular schedule of lifting. The weight is remaining constant but there is a reconfiguration.  I am back into my 33" waist jeans from when I was 17 yo in highschool.  Wow.  I stopped by the old football stadium and talked to the coach about what I had become.  The only regret was not having the wisdom to do this bodybuilding while I was in highschool.  Well, if bodybuilding is my midlife crisis issue than…great.  Happy lifting all!

Yeehaw!!!!

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Man am I glad to be lifting again.  After 2 weeks of moving boxes and furniture in and out, pulling carpet, painting and laying floor I am happy to be back.  I lost no strength!  I am soooooo proud of this vehicle that the Creator gave for me to use.  I am on Vacation in Illinois and Mom is feeding the whole family WAY too much.  Carbs!  But who can resist Persimmon Pudding!?  Well, not to mention the other treats.  I was quite suprised how I lost size after those 2 1/2 weeks but no loss in strength.  Very curious but pleased that the strength didn’t drop.  Well, my own biometric tests confirmed this.  I normally cannot touch my thumb to my shoulder when extended but I can after not lifting.  So it was in a panic I headed to the gym thinking I would be at the bottom of the gene pool.  Fortunately it was fluff lost not buff.  But, workout again tomorrow with much added creatine and protein.  Happy lifting to all.

Abuse

Monday, August 6th, 2007

For all of you who come to learn I congratulate you.  For others that come here to be abusive I depise you.  One of my friends in this forum bailed because of harrassment and written trash.  For all I know she could have kicked their a$$ quite well as she was big and could deadlift as much as I could in 10 reps.  But please, report abuse when you see it or read it.  We all want to get better and criticism is not abuse.  Abusive, belittling, degrading, raunchy statements are not OK here.  Any comments that are not directed towards bodybuilding or uninvited should be kept in our minds and not put into word.  So my friend and resource is now gone and that person’s actions has robbed me of something valuable.  I do not blame her for leaving, I would have done the same.

We are here to lift and learn

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

In Zen "only silence and awareness are pristine."  For those of you reading, congrats, you are here for more than fluff, ass chick shots and flirting.  You came to learn something about me and my lifting.  Fluff shots need to be in porn magazines or at least Maxim or Men’s Health but not here.  We are here for beef.  Meat/muscle on the bones is our way to a healthier life.  For some of us, lifting is freedom.  Freedom from daily stress, a way to improve ourselves etc.  For those that seek to hurt others with crude comments the door is a mouse click away.  Someone was very rude, crude and socially unacceptable to one of my friends here and that is too bad.  But, I guess people are people and freedom of speech is the price we pay in this country.  However, it is still inexcusable and if you witness it report the abuse to our humble Hosts.  So, just lift, learn and live.  Share when you can and are asked to do so.  Play nice.
