BAck pain

Well I took baldsnake’s advice and started the lats work with chin ups.  I also added shrugs instead of upright row.  I then got electric shocks about 2/3rds the way into each rep.  I know the feeling.  Something was rubbing on a nerve root or plexsus.  It did not feel good.  Eased up in 24 hours with some Aleve.  My arms feel more tight today and feel bulkier.  I do have to watch the wekends and prevent the weekend warrior complex but instead of activity it is eating!

Change in routine

After measuring I have increased my arms by 1", lost 1/2 on the waist, dropped 1.5% bodyfat.  But now I need to change some things.  I will add chin-ups for the lats because things are not changing there.  Also barbell pull overs and shrugs.  I did not like the way the up-right rows felt anyway.  Yuk.

Cardio

Well at the old age of 46 I have added a wonderful beginning to my cardio.  Yes, I bought an eliptical trainer from Horizon.  A 320E-I think that’s it.  Now I can add the cardio I need and progress.  It’s great. I have started my ab workout too and I can actually "see" my abs.  Greatly under developed but they are there!  Woohoo!

Water Alternatives

I am wondering about the amount of fluids I take in.  I know it is not enough.  I want to consider drinking green tea but then I am stuck with sweetening it with sugar or splenda.  I would rather not use splenda.  I get enough pollutants just eating and breathing.  I do not want to voluntarily take in something else that is un-natural.  I like regular tea but if I drink that I am sure it is way too much caffeine at the 100 grams per 1/2 gallon rate!  Hopefully others will have suggestions that I have not thought of…
