Not good pre-workout. Try a slow digesting carb like apple or another fruit (void melons though). Pecan pie is good though.

OOPS!
I’m fortunate to not have that issue, as I hit the gym at 5am OMG IT’S EARLY! So I w/o on an empty stomach. As a fellow 40-something, I need all the help I can get to burn the calories.

thanks all. yes. AL-1961,, I usually work out early too. With just coffee. That works the best for me.
