I have been doing full body workouts 3x’s/week for the past 3 weeks, but I’ve read so much about split routines. I’ve been considering moving to a 4 days/week upper/lower body split routine. I have read that beginners should stay with a full body routine, but, even though my body may be a beginner’s, I know the exercise movements and have some muscle memory from working out in the past that could be considered intermediate.
So, if there is anyone out there that could give some advice on what would be best, please let me know. Thanks!

After the third workout, I’ve come to realize that I am completely out of shape. Even though I knew I wouldn’t be able to push the weight I used to, I struggle to complete the last set of each exercise. I think the diet had a lot to do with it. My body was eating a lot of muscle in my attempt to stay skinny while I did minimal exercise. That was a mistake. Living and learning…

It’s Tuesday, and I am finally able to completely extend my arms again. I worked out Sunday evening for the first time since early May. I tried to lift the same amount with the same intensity that I was working out at in May. I am definitely paying for it. My wife and I plan to hit the gym tomorrow morning and hopefully some of the soreness will have subsided.
