Been crazy since Saturday, the show. Been doing a lot of thinking since then and where I want to go from here as far as being a competitor on stage. I feel very satisfied with my first Physique show and really enjoyed it more than my bodybuilding classes. I have made a decision to be more of a Physique competitor and only do bodybuilding in the Master Classes here on out. One reason too is I love to run, nothing special as far as record breaking speed, but enjoy the challenge that long distance running brings. I have until June 16th for the Shredded Challenge and knew would have to mix things up to bring my body fat level down even more. So decided on June 10th going to try and do a half marathon. This obviously will cover my cardio for the challenge since will be doing a lot of running. I honestly have not ran in over a year and on Monday, two days post show, I surprised myself and did 6 miles on the treadmill. Hard to explain why this is possible, I am total confused on how I pulled it off. I may do hours of cardio but it is always LISS at around 120 bpm and broken up in as much 30 to 45 minutes block as possible. Was honestly thinking after a mile it would be all over. So Monday did a nice 6 mile run and came back on Tuesday for a 3 mile run and swam 400 meters. Swimming was horrible, could only go about 20 to 25 meters a shot but have to start some where. Reading a lot of the essays for the ON challenge really motivated to try and take it to the next level. Amazing how my story is so similar to others, almost like in some of the essays I could have written them. We all need support and motivation and I am so glad I did the ON challenge for that reason. I can honestly say my goal for the ON challenge was never physical but emotional, mental, and spiritual. These are the biggest and most important changes one can make in their life. Yesterday was 5 months of sobriety for me and without the ON challenge really don't know if it could have happened without a slip up or two.
